Anyone have mlb.tv?? And do you live in LA??

I just got it the other day and i live in LA but travel to Australia often. So I thought I'd try it out. Turns out every Dodger game I've tried to watch has been blacked out?? THE FUCK DOES THAT MEAN?? hahaha

Although, watching a black screen would be better than watching this shitty ass fucking team right now!

You can't watch teams in your market. MLBtv is meant for out of market fans.

If you are in the LA Market (so, in LA) you can't get access to watch the Dodgers because presumably, you are suppose to be watching it on the regional network. Whatever city you are in, you can't watch use MLBTV to watch the game of the regional sports team.

I get MLB.TV for Dodger games every now and again on my phone, even though it's supposed to be blacked out :D

I have MLB.tv. They don't do a great job of explaining the blackout rules before you sign up, but when you are in LA you will be blacked out of every game (I've yet to hear of anyone using it through a proxy). I used to live in Vegas and after digging I found out Vegas was blacked out for: Dodgers, Angels, Giants, A's, and Diamondbacks!

Anyway, I live in San Diego now, watch on MLB.tv all the time, and love it. I'm only blacked out when they play the Padres or if the game is on FOX or ESPN. I also won't get postseason games, but as a Dodger fan that's not a problem.

I know NZ uses it down under, so he's the man to talk to about your Australian usage.

Mlb.tv is the best. I travel to many latin america countries and it works perfectly everywhere. If its not working when you go to Australia you might be using some kind of VPN that links you to your LA office.

How much do VPN's cost? Could I use a VPN and watch all Dodger games even though I live in LA?

    Blackouts are annoying
I understand why they exist, but honestly, I wanna be able to watch games when I'm not home on my mobile devices
Obviously when I'm home I'm gonna watch it on TV
But I can't have the privilege of watching on an ipad, laptop or phone because I live in market?

A VPN is a secure connection that corporations provide for their employees to get on their company network while not on their premises. If your company's base is in LA, when you get on the VPN is like you are IN LA, so the blackout applies.

On the other hand, if your company base is miami and you are in their network using VPN (even if you are physically is LA) the network will be routed thru Miami, therefore blackout doesnt apply.

I haven't had cable in a while, but do they have any apps that allow you to watch your cable stations on your mobile devices?

Even though I can watch MLB.tv on my TV, more often than not I watch games on my iPad. I can take it from room to room. Cook dinner while watching. Eat dinner in the backyard and watch. Go to the bathroom and keep watching. Go into the office, look up porn on my computer and still watch the game on the iPad. It's the way to go.
