Yeah... I'd still never do that
Last two seasons of the 3 guys you mentioned.
    .940 OPS, 63 HRS, 23% K Rate, 6 WAR BBRef, 9.3 WAR FG
    .803 OPS, 38 HRS, 19% K Rate, 7.9 WAR BBRef, 8.6 WAR FG
    .869 OPS, 64 HRS, 25% K Rate, 8.4 WAR BBRef, 7.6 WAR FG

Basically we are moving deck chairs to add one more guy that we already have on the roster, that is younger, cheaper and controllable for 5 more seasons. The only player that you consider trading a guy like Bellinger for at this point in his career are the Mike Trout/Acuna types that are potential big time players, cause that is still what Bellinger is. Belli is coming off of a down year, but was still an extremely valuable player that just happened to do what a lot of guys do, have a bad second season. If they are trading him to get rid of Kemp's contract, there are bigger issues going on and it would make even more sense to hold on to Bellinger and just let Kemp's contract expire.

Morosi just said that the Dodgers appear to be somewhat behind the market holdup as 2B is expected to be the next domino to fall in free agency. The Dodgers have a big need at the position, but they are trying to first figure some other things out. With them being interested in the guys at the top of the 2B list, their waiting has caused the league to come to this standstill, it would appear. They are still trying to figure out what direction the Indians are going with Kluber and what the Marlins are doing with Realmuto. The Marlins are expected to make a decision before Christmas whether or not to move Realmuto.

it was supposed to be about Grandmals head but I forgot the last part because while Puig has cement in his head and Grandmal has concrete in his I have a bunch of hot air in mine minds mine. ;)

Agreed and so that actually sounds like a " fuck yeah " and not a " maybe " in regards to Jeter taking on Kemp for Belli.

So then if Pollock is really an option right now, is that for the corner? Or CF? And if it's CF, where does that leave Belli/Muncy and 1B? That's what I was after with my post earlier. What role does Pollock play in all this? Your theory tied Pollock to Harper

Any idea who they might be interested in at 2B, other than LeMahieu? Maybe Marwin Gonzalez? (could see them liking his versatility) Jed Lowrie? (I assume on a 1 year deal)

Zaidi is signing the Tranny to play with the sfKags. It's only fitting, since he kept going back to trade with Oakland all the time, now he's pulling the same guys along to SF. Maybe he'll offer us MadBum for Muncy next, just to test Robot's resolve by planting him in Puig's playpen?

Lowrie makes the most sense rather than overpaying guys that may not be better than Kike or Taylor anyway.
Get Lowrie and have Taylor and Kike ready in case Lowrie does not live up to his recent numbers.
If you pay a guy like LeMeh and Marwin multiple years he blocks future phenom deLuxe.

You can blame Eric Stephen for this, but i'm starting to wonder if they are delaying making Joe Kelly official (and the corresponding 40-man move) because they may be on the verge of a deal that will clear a spot, maybe not a big deal, but a deal nonetheless.

Or it could just be that we are a week short of Christmas.

It's a 40 man spot thing and it is reasonable to think they are trying to make a deal to clear room rather than outright DFA someonee

So you were not a fan of a switch pitcher?

I personally didn't see him as so valuable, except in concept. But I was willing to wait and see because he's so unique

OTOH, I freakin HATE the vaGiants getting ANYTHING from us.

i thought the guy was reasonably effective for the times i saw him tbh
not a lock down kind of guy but he got outs
but i will say its been a while since we outrighted a guy and had it come back to bite us
must be in the numbers lol

They only said LeMahieu, but would also venture a guess for Lowrie

Marwin/LAD interest was mentioned earlier in free agency, after the LeMahieu stuff, iirc
