People want Chancellor but it would set such a dangerous precedent for the Hawks. Especially for guys like Earl Thomas.

 

Well, this whole thing is supposedly over 900K. I'm not sure how dangerous it is to just move 900K from next year to this year.

However, it wouldn't shock me if Chancellor's real goal was to get traded to a team with more cap space and get a brand new deal because his 4yr/28M contract is pebbles compared to the 5yrs/48M that Devin McCourtey got. You bring up Earl Thomas..Thomas is locked in for 4yrs/40M. One could easily make the case that Chancellor is on a team friendly deal. It's even worse when you look at the guaranteed dollars.

Good gamble on Amerson by McKenzie. 1 shy of the NCAA INT record back in 2013 at NC State. Former 2nd round pick..get him in a Cover 3 system that suits his strengths and coach him up. Can't have enough big DBs that hawk.
