Yeah, that's more conventional. I'd hate to play there though.

How else are we supposed to capture the all important Anaheimian fan base?

Dodger Stadium is a special place. In 2011, I took my best friend to a game there and he was in complete awe with the entire place. I know that Arizonians don't really get to experience "real" baseball, but he's also been to Wrigley and Busch. That was the best time my buddy has ever had at a baseball game. There's too much to love about DS which is why I'm surprised some people feel the way they do so passionately. I mean sure, the place isn't completely modernized, but this offseason sounds like a huge leap forward for a stadium that honestly really didn't need that much renovating.

Back in 2005, I went to Fenway Park, and let me tell you guys, you'd appreciate DS a little more after going there. I mean the pride/tradition/atmosphere is still there, but if you guys are calling DS a dump, then Fenway must be a fucking sewer.

When I think about special ballparks, there's always that one factor that separates it from the rest. Take the NL West for example. I've been to every NL West park minus Frisco. DS is definitely the best one I've been to by far. There's nothing special about any of the other parks (excluding Frisco). In Colorado, they planted trees and other shrubs to make it a nice forrest type theme in the outfield. Dodger Stadium has an entire ravine that was already there.

The Dodgers and Chavez Ravine go together, and the stadium has aged well. Idk, I just think about the time my friend had there and think of the countless number of times DS has done that for other people on a nightly basis.

    Yeah good points made...

I was thinking about the Lakers and having seen them dozens of times at the old Forum and great it was but everyone complained about the lack of snob suites. Now with Staples it's almost all snob suites and I think that sometimes our local teams suffer from the absence of fervent involved crowd participation. Was it really an improvement? Maybe in some ways maybe not in others.

I also used to work for a company that had a snob suite at the Pond to see the Ducks and while it was really nice having someone bring your burger, dogs snacks and drinks to you, and the kids loved the waitress serving custom ice cream between periods, but did it make it a more fun experience than when I was sitting just above the glass? Hell No. I'd take the seats by the glass in a heart beat and fetch my own beers. Hockey is much more exciting closer.

Dodger stadium was once beautiful and is still in a gorgeous setting, it isn't as antiquated as many stadiums and the upcoming changes might not make it the most state of the art but I don't go there for the state of the art. I want to watch a game. From the best seats I can afford. With a little knee room for my beer. Otherwise I could give a shit about pissing into a trough some long as I can drain one beer and acquire another in less than 1/2 inning.

I live much closer to Angel stadium now and in some ways it being newer is nicer. But not so much. They bring in better food merchants but you pay more for it all. I wouldn't care so much as to rebuild the whole stadium. Let them put up a new scoreboard for better replays, add a few new food vendors, clean it up a bit to show off the Dodger history a bit more and call it fine for another decade.

    Watch the ballgame.

What else are you looking for?
