And I'm good with this approach. History shows this rational is spot on!!!

Yes, and following that rationale will keep greater profits for the Guggs grandkids in tow, which we all know is the most important aspect of our team. Winning the WS has morphed into this abberation now.
And as far as "spot on", are there some kind of stats/numbers that reflect teams that don't sign pitchers to 6 year contracts are more successful than those that do? I highly doubt it..it's merely opinion at this point in time, unless there's something I'm not aware of, which is quite possible. And ZG could have been the exception.
It just " seems" like good business, but is there shit to back it up?
So they don't/won't do it...I just can't get off on the FO beaming pride because they didn't...big deal.

Here's an example: At the end of the 1998 season the Dodgers signed Kevin Brown to a 7 year contract, the Dodgers haven't seen a World Series since. Also, Brown was out of baseball when his contract ended.

You actually consider this an example??Kevin Brown sets the bar?
OK...then you can feel all proud and gooey inside that your FO didn't overspend or give too many years to anybody...and if they did, and we got even one WS appearance out of it, I'd be prouder of that than what you and the junior GMs consider business acumen. When it's all black & white SABR for everything else?
I'd rather feel all warm and toasty towards my baseball team than beaming pride for a bunch of fucking boy millionaires that don't know or give a fuck that we're alive. I'd rather give a one guy too many years and have a proven player out there on the mound than 4 fucking question marks after Clayton.
To each his own...I'm just thankful I don't think your way...ever.

Zoo, you need to CALM THE FUCK DOWN.

It was halfway joking, and it was AN example, not THE example. Maybe 1 out of 20 of those long term pitching contracts proves to be worth the money and years, and yes, maybe short term a team IS succesful (by your terms, winning a WS) for a short while, but the lingering effects are felt for years afterward as those teams are crippled from making meaningful moves after a big season. And don't hand me that "unlimited funds horseshit" because no matter how rich no team has unlimited funds.

Yes, I support not giving out long term deals to 30+ pitchers, because history tells us it seldom if ever works out. If that means we miss out on top pitchers now so be it. At least the payroll won't be hamstrung by those contracts 4 years from now when the new breed of hot shot FA pitchers hits the market. And I plan to be alive to see it, unlike you, evidently. Cause you seem to think you'll be dead before we see another WS. What exactly are you suffering from? Prognosis?

How the fuck am I supposed to know you,'re " halfway joking"...?? Huh? And believe me, telling what and the way I feel is "needing to ca!m the fuck down", is your problem, not mine.
I just read ad infinitum ongoing posts from you calling others names like" fuckturd" and the like and now you're kidding? lol
OK..? I guess I missed your humor in the response. Maybe a bit obscure?
You have backed up the FO on pretty much everything, haven't you.?? So good for you. In your world as a Dodger fan, that's what you need to do..but if I tell you truthfully... Either accept it as my truth or don't...that's up to you. I guess if you can't deal with my true feelings, don't intertact with me...you've always had this annoying ( I find) habit of telling people to " calm the fuck down" or to "take a knee" or some other dismissive expression.

Mmmm,...I dunno, maybe by the smilie at the end of the fucking post?

No, you make it everyone's problem by repeating over and over and over. Believe me, we all know the way you feel. We get it.

No, you just read "ad infinitum" ongoing posts from me calling ONE poster names like "fucktard", and that was only after he started calling me names and being condescending towards me. I think you suffer from the Repubtard disease of taking every thing personally. Really, everything is NOT about you. Trust me.

Once again, refer to the smilie at the end of the post.

Yes, for the most part, because I believe what they are doing is good for the club in the long haul. And if you aren't in it for the long haul, what the fuck are you in it for at all?

Let's face the facts. You find everything annoying. From reading your posts on this forum I get the feeling you haven't liked anything since Isenhower.
