It seems to be on every year. I am sure it is for every team, I just do not give a shit about the problems of other teams. That said, I have been following Petriello's look at Rosin and I have to say I am intrigued. Here is why I am intrigued: Last year with Philly they were projecting him as their future number 4 starter if he continued what he was doing then. His changeup is better now as is his other off speed stuff. Every thing I read talked about him pounding the zone and being able to add and subtract when he wanted. The dude was the throw-in in the Pence trade. Yes, he is from the Giants' system. While that sucks donkey balls, it also says something too. Say what you will, they produce pitchers. Finally, the dude is 24. 24. Need I say it again? 24? I have done the math over and over and I can only see about three ways we get to keep him. First, Bills needs to head to the 60 day. Why he is not, I have no idea. Best case, he is back in June. He still needs games in the minors to get ready. Perhaps, they are doing all they can to add him as late as possible. Also, it would mean that Paco, Withrow, and Guerrero all begin the year at AA or AAA. This would also mean no Turner or Figgins. In essence, I have no idea how this is even possible. I guess my point is that we have one hell of a fight going on right now for the roster. Most would probably accept a role in AAA until an injuries occurs. Rosin is stuck. Make the roster or be sent back. Also, I am nervous that Figgins and Turner will wind up being good pieces for another team.
I think Turner will be here to stay. Can't say the same about Figgins, but his versatility is interesting. Rosin will be gone because we have guys like Brandon League taking up space.
