Suspension is better than being released because suspension means you don't get paid and are stuck on that team just sitting there doing nothing. Released, you can just latch on somewhere else (you'd assume another team won't sign him but you'd be surprised) and he could just be paid and get to play
I just hope he doesn't lose his cool and un-defect back to Cuba. Well, he's got 28 million reasons to stay, plus freedom - which is everything - but, still, losing an ear is totally radical. The answer here, of course, is to send Olivo to Cuba. :finger:
Dodgers Propsect Alex Guerrero DECLINED TO PRESS CHARGES After Ear-Biting Dugout Fight 5/21/2014 9:04 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF Alex Guerrero -- the Dodgers minor league prospect who had part of his ear bitten off in a dugout fight Tuesday -- told cops immediately following the fight he did NOT want to press charges against the biter ... officials tell TMZ Sports. Guerrero was allegedly attacked by Triple-A teammate Miguel Olivo during a minor league game in Salt Lake City -- with Olivo allegedly taking a bite out of Guerrero's ear. Guerrero -- who signed a $28 million contract with the Dodgers -- is scheduled to have plastic surgery to reattach part of his lobe. Now, the Salt Lake City PD tells us ... they were contacted by the hospital where Guerrero was treated -- and sent investigators to meet up with the injured player. "Upon responding to the hospital and interviewing the man, the alleged victim declined to file a complaint," officials tell us ... "He didn't want to generate a report." Guerrero told investigators he wants to consult with his lawyer and league officials-- and could change his mind ... and if that happens cops says, "If at any time the alleged victim does want to, we will take the report." As for the fight, Olivo was reportedly pissed that Guerrero missed a tag on a play earlier in the game ... and the two had gone after each other on the pitcher's mound before the fight spilled into the dugout. http://www.tmz.com/2014/05/21/alex-guerrero-ear-biting-dugout-fight-no-charges/
^Well, I don't know if that's news or not - TMZ jumping in on the story. Beyond the flashy headline, he's talking to lawyers and league officials. We'll have to wait and see what happens...
The Dbacks will pick him up now. He will be justified by LaRussa, who will mysteriously get a case of top shelf bourbon every two weeks sent from an "anonymous donor". Olivo eventually will bite part of Goldie's ear off, prompting Vinny to go on on a 'helmet with two earpieces mandatory 100% of the time, even in the dugout' campaign. Olivo will receive a suspended sentence, and evntually land a role on "Game of Thrones" as a Giant (actually eating dismembered bodies for realism sake). He will appear to be a giant by clever filming, like they do for Sylvester Stallone. Tyrion will eventually kill him in a staged fight that goes awry. RIP Miguel, POS.
buh bye mike olive:gaywave2: Dodgers release Miguel OlivoBy Mark Saxon | ESPNLosAngeles.com -- 3 minutes agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers released catcher Miguel Olivo on Thursday, two days after a dugout altercation in which Olivo allegedly bit off part of teammate Alex Guerrero's ear during a Triple-A game. The Dodgers had suspended Olivo on Wednesday, pending the completion of a team investigation. Olivo, 35, batted .217 in eight games for the Dodgers this season. He was signed to a minor league contract in January.Agent Scott Boras, who represents Guerrero, said Tuesday that his client needed plastic surgery on his ear as a result of a bite from Olivo. Neither Olivo nor his representatives have commented publicly. According to sources, Guerrero could miss up to five weeks.Guerrero, a Cuban infielder signed for $28 million this past winter, remained on the Albuquerque roster as of Wednesday evening.According to the Salt Lake City police, Guerrero declined to file a complaint with the police about the incident, and that would have been the first step toward criminal prosecution.Last season, the Miami Marlins placed Olivo on the restricted list after he left the team without permission.Olivo also has displayed a hot temper on the field before, charging at Jose Reyes and missing with a wild punch during a dustup between the Marlins and New York Mets late in the 2007 season.Ironically, in a spring training interview with Telemundo posted by SB Nation, Olivo said that if he weren't a baseball player, he would like to be a boxer like Mike Tyson -- but without biting an ear off. Tyson infamously bit off part of Evander Holyfield's ear during a 1997 bout.ESPNLosAngeles.com special contributor Danny Knobler and The Associated Press contributed to this report. __

This is all over a missed tag huh? Damn.....if our pitchers were anything like this fuck up they would have swung a few bats to the heads of our defense for all of those errors.
