is that stat an average or it piles up as the season goes, cuz he missed a big chunk of playing time...

really, I dont know who we are trying to scam... the guy is not a big league ss... let some other team do the Billy Hamilton project with him and get some value out of him...

It's UZR/150 or UZR adjusted for 150 games - so it's an average.

    Dee in 2011:
    233 PA, 68 hits, 9 doubles, 2 triples, 24 SB, 7 CS, .304/.325/.362/.686

    Dee in 2012:
    330 PA, 69 hits, 9 doubles, 2 triples, 32 SB, 10 CS, .228/.280/.281/.561

The point is that in nearly the same number of ABs in 2011 he played very well. What sticks out to me is that he has made a drastic improvement in taking walks and that is great. The more he gets on base the more havoc he causes.

Does he make errant, wild throws? Yes. Does he have massively better range? Yes.

If he can have a line of .280/.335/.350 with about 60-70 SBs over the course of a full year, he makes this team much, much better. He is a natural leadoff hitter and brings a fantastic speed element to the team. I just think it is not wise to give up on him at this point because of the way he played last year. You can just as easily point to 2012 as 2011 as to what may be. Give the kid a shot. If he works the defense improves, speed improves, the lineup naturally falls into place and we become much better all around.

Why is it so hard to give up on prospects??? Its like that old girlfriend that you know is trouble but she gives the best head you've had, so you just cant walk away...

I think DBB will have a close eye on him in ST, and he will be given every chance to make the team and prove he can play... And I'm up for that... But I say no to just hand him the job...

I believe Dee, as much as I've never been a fan, deserves a shot to earn a job in ST. And I think he'll flop. Just doesn't have it.
