Past the half way mark a while ago. Before the break, we lost 15/20. We are poised to lose 2/3 to SD. And according to Vin, we will get swept by the new look Phillies (lol). BUT we are only gonna be 1.5 back. Are the Giants a better team than us if both teams stand pat? Do you expect a major move? Who wins this division?
Giants are playing above their heads, but that doesn't mean they won't play above their heads all season. Crazier things have happened. They will not go away and unless the Dodgers can get better, it will come down to the last series of the season and they've shown they can beat us. I really want to say Dodgers, but we need to get better if we don't want to play in a one game playoff.
Inclined to agree with this. We desperately need another bat. And with Chad down, the SP situation is even more tenuous. Yes, he hasn't pitched great this year, but he's still better than the other options we have in the minors.
I hate to even type it but this is the Gnats division to lose. It is what it is. We have a piss poor team save a few and we are showing what happens when it is fielded. We cannot rely on Kemp and Ethier alone. I have no doubt, I will be lambasted for this statement but I really do not give a shit. I am hoping that if we continue this steady decline that Kasten will open his eyes insofar as Colletti is concerned. I keep seeing FAs that we covet in talks for extensions so I do not hold out hope for some awesome offseason.
I still don't see how we are one bat away from having a good offense. 1B, 3B and LF are atrocious. These are supposed to be offensively charged positions too, and we have nothing. We need a 1B and a 3B minimum to compete. I voted that we take this because I hold out hope that the front office addresses our needs and get us a ton of help, plus the gnats fade out down the stretch. But we are in no way good. 18-29 in our last 47 games. You can blame injuries, but we are going to be banged up the rest of the way... teams always are.

One more hitter and some Injury stability in the rotation will do wonders. Eovaldi isn't good right now and Bills needs to be healthy... One pitcher and one hitter and maybe the giants not being so fucking lucky and ppl beating them and were good. We've just had so much shit to go against us, and the giants have only had lincecum being shitty being bad. Any turn of luck and shits good. Not to mention ownership has proven they're eager to improve right away (that's a two way street, but hopefully someone's willing to sell at a reasonable price) We're gonna win the west, woo
Yeah, we're winning the division. We'll get a bat, possibly two, and a SP. It will be a close race, but we'll win the division.
