I'm pretty happy how it ended. In the end, there were many loose ends that were tied up, and Walt ultimately got what was coming to him. He went back to New Mexico to die, and to try and fix what he could with the people closest to him. Him telling Skylar that he did it all for himself was a half truth. In the middle of it all, he really did do it all because his ego wouldn't let him give it up. But he did it all for his family, and only told Skylar this because it was what she wanted to hear. To her, this was the truth for all the madness that happened. Walt went out on his own terms. His legacy is there, Skylar will be fine with the DEA off her back now that he's gone, and Jesse is free to start a new life.
wonder if anyone thought it was toooo perfect of an ending... In a world they developed that was so insane, we get that. I mean, insanity happened but I wonder how i woulda felt if something I didn't really think was gonna happen happened. Walts plans always fuck up just a bit, I was waiting for one thing to fuck up (I thought Todd would stay alive and shoot someone, or Jesse get shot, or something). Again, Idk if its better or worse this way, I just think it woulda been a bit more "breaking Bad"ish for something to kinda fuck up a bit instead of everything we wanted to happen, happen.
It kinda did fuck up. He never planned to get shot by the machine gun. He planned for Jesse to kill him, but Jesse just let him die on his own.
I loved it. I mean, I think it was predictable but the way they did it was fantastic. What a great show
Walt had a pretty happy ending for himself. I know, death is shitty no matter what, it's shitty. And he died with a lot of people hating him. But also he dies thinking: My kid gets 9+ mil dolllars, so it was worth it, I destroyed an evil empire of Nazis, I saved Jesse, even though I manipulated the shit out of Jesse he ends up a good guy so I didn't fuck him over that much, and that the thing that killed Walt was his own doing. He dies by his own hands, like he is the only one powerful enough to destroy himself, as well as him destroying his own meth empire by taking them all out and Lydia. It says a lot about the ending that I was pretty happy with it even though I really wanted Walt to come out losing big time. He came out on top. Dies much happier than he would have if his kids wouldn't have gotten money, his meth legacy carried on without him, and Jesse stays in harms way or kills someone. Fuck
yeah fuck I'm gonna needa think about this more. Man, this final season 5 was great. I honestly loved the ending to every single character on this show outside of Mike and maybe Walt, with Mikes being a plot issue to me and Walt more of a personal issue of me wanting something worse. It's hard to do that with this cast, but I loved the ending to everyone from Badger, Skinny Pete, Jane, Gus, to the major ones like Skyler, Marie, Hank, Saul, Nazis, Lydia, Jesse.
I know it was pretty predictable what was going to happen, but they did something pretty unpredictable to have a lot of happy endings. I know almost everyone felt Walt and several others would lose big in the end. I thought for sure the majority of Walt's family outside of Holly would die and Walt would die unhappy.
man, I really thought Todd was gonna kill one of Jesse/Walt then he'd get shot by the other. Kinda like a, everybody dies and this shit has always been a dirty mess business so fuck with it, type of ending. I woulda been fine with it. Woulda been dark and scary as shit, but would have fit Breaking Bad. Maybe you're right: The happy endings was a bit unpredictable if you think about it.
How exactly did Walt get shot? He was laying on top of Jesse and was hit on the left side of his abdomen. I'm not a physicist but logically speaking if Walt was shot then so should have Jesse. That's my only criticism. Even as a Walt fan all the way I get the ending, not what I would've done but it was a succinct perfect ending.
The gun was going off like crazy and was blasting through the wall. You hear him grunt a bit when he's on the ground, but I'd have to watch it again to see where he gets shot, because it confused me a bit too.
i'm trippin on doyer trippin i think i came in to say thank you vince gilligan that was so much fun:clap:
Ok a ricochet, but anyone that's shot a gun like that knows that a round traveling that fast from that short distance wouldn't ricochet inside a concrete or sheet rocked walled room. Plus I just can't see how Walt would be hit and Jesse wouldn't. Anyway that was the only criticism I have, and it's a petty one.
I was surprised at how "happy" the ending was. Skyler, Marie, Jesse, Flynn/WaltJr all live, more or less happily ever after. Walt gets to die with his true love. All the "evil" characters get offed. But now there's $70M laying around in Albuquerque somewhere.
Do you remember when you and I were the only ones looking and talking about this series? It's now being called the "best of all time"...I hope something like that happens with the team this year.
