    You know you won the trade when a year later if the Marlins came to us and asked what the cost for Hanley was, we would respond with "a whole hell of a lot more than Eovaldi and McGough!"

    Another thing, if Hanley is truly back then he is untouchable. There simply isn't a package one could put together that would be worth a prime Hanley.

    Well you weren't talking about being realistic. You just said there wasn't a package anyone could put together. There certainly is, but it just wouldn't be practical for most teams with big time prospects.

    The type of deal would have to be similar to the Tex deal. Elite production with the bat at SS while playing serviceable defense and another full season under contract would likely take something in the neighborhood of Taveras, Martinez, Wong/Wacha and someone like Kelly or Wisdom. This is something a franchise like the Cardinals would never do, I'm just using the example of a strong farm which was similar to what the Braves had when they landed Tex.

    I love HanRam, and I hate to burst the Dodger fan bubble, but that proposal would get laughed off the phone. Taveras alone is an overpay for Hanley.
