Long time away but do you consider Josh Hamilton an option in the offseason? Or does the signing of Puig, Kemp, and Ethier this season pretty much end that possibility to add Hamilton long term?

I know the outfield isn't our concern, but don't you think (assuming he is healthy) Hamilton would be a grand slam signing? So much star power in the NBA here in LA. And unfortunately, even over in Anaheim for baseball. Hamilton would light baseball in this city on fire and fill Dodger Stadium. Bring the energy Manny did. Ethier/Kemp/Hamilton....murderers row.

Would you like to see this or do you think the team would be wiser to pass on Josh?

Just thinking out loud and curious.

The chance to have hitters of Kemp's and Hamilton's ability back to back alone we should go after him. Best 2 hitters in baseball would be nice.

Puig can be a DH when we play American League teams.

I don't think Puig's name should even come up as a reason why we shouldn't sign Hamilton. If Puig turns out the way we hope then great we will have a dilemma on what to do with our outfield but it will be a good one.

It might take longer for Puig to come around. Hamilton is what, 31? We could have a 24 year old superstar waiting in the wings one Hamilton starts to decline.

If somehow we can move Andre or Puig to first in the future, then you know I'm all for it.

I'd be sick to get Hamilton. We should.

I'm with VRP on this one. At 32, Hamilton will require a Pujols contract, and for the last 6 years it will be like throwing $25M out the window. He needs to stay in the AL where he can DH.

sure why not. but then you think about it and how much he wants. probably 150+ at least 6 yrs. hasnt played a full season since his MVP one. when hes healthy he's the best in BB but man, theres an awesome chance he hits the DL in more than half of the seasons he's with us.

we're rich but we still need to spend smart. thats how good teams win

Puig wont even be a factor until 3 years into Hamilton's potential contract anyways.

Josh Hamilton is a must sign in the off season. After having a parade of fools and has beens in left field for what seems like forever Dodger fans deserve to have a bonafide superstar out in left for once. Signing Hamilton would put an end to the left field problems. This would be money well spent. And there is some risk with his past but every long term contract could backfire on you for thousands of reasons. He is worth the risk to me. I'm done with the "Who is playing left today?" game.

Not sure what persue is, but I definitely think we should pursue him ;)

Having him and Kemp in the lineup would be insane. If the FO is willing to spend the money on a large contract, and it won't hamper other signings (either now or in the future) then I'm all for it. Not my money.

Yeah, but picture him in a Dodger uniform. Dropping a bomb of Cain.

The marketing would be awesome. AlcoHOLLYWOOD replacing Mannywood.

I would like to see it, but it isn't the smartest of moves. An addictive personality, injury plagued, old, will want a huge contract. Would be fun for a couple of years perhaps though.
