whats amazing to me is that i cannot get health information on my own underage kids unless they authorize it while teams can "leak " health information that could hurt the value of ones ability to make money. This is baffling to me. Scenario: If your underage daughter had a physical, and it was found that she was pregnant the MD cannot tell you unless the minor allows it.. THE FUCK!!!
Well. It's done. The A's traded a catcher to the Madres so they have a catcher and the Chinchilla is free to tear a hammy in San Diego.
Padres Acquire Matt Kemp By Charlie Wilmoth [December 18, 2014 at 10:36pm CST] The NL West blockbuster between the Dodgers and Padres is finally a reality and outfielder Matt Kemp is on his way to the Padres. The two teams officially announced the five-player trade that will send Kemp and catcher Tim Federowicz to San Diego, with the Dodgers receiving catcher Yasmani Grandal, righty Joe Wieland, and pitching prospect Zach Eflin. The Dodgers will also include $32MM to help cover the $107MM remaining on Kemp’s contract, which runs through 2019. damn right..you honor that agreement, bkitches.
That video makes me sad, especially the part with Dee hanging on Kemp's back. Just looking at the video and saying "He's gone, and he's gone, and he's gone, and he's going to be gone" and on and on. This sucks.
Sucks to see them leave, but tbh, I don't care who they put on the field. Just win the fucking World Series already.
just shows we're human we have our faves and it always hurts to say goodbye i think it's fair to say we all wish matt well but at the end of the day we're dodger fans first and foremost
Yeah of course. It's just Kemp was the guy that got me into prospects. He came up in 2006 when me (any you?) were 13-14 and I remember reading a Baseball America piece on him saying he was the next big thing. Told my dad about it and then we went to San Diego for a vacation when I saw him hit 2 bombs in a 2 games. Memories you know ?
Always root for name on the front of the jersey, but damn if I'm nota bit sad to see a guy who came up through the system and gave us some great memories go. Now let's hope this is another step forward into finally getting that championship.
I just remember that our system was loaded, with him, Martin, Ethier, Billingsley, and Loney and they were supposed to be part of the core that lead the Dodgers back to the World Series. Shit didn't work out though.
It didn't work out but man was it fun. Loney was the biggest disappointment there and Manny had a lot to do with 2008, but watching Kemp/Ethier/Martin/Bills come up young and blossom into good to great everyday players was awesome to watch. Like Chris said, Kemp was one of the first Dodgers I got to really experience being excited about when he was a prospect and watch him develop to MVP level status. The good and the bad with him. It's sad to see him go
Absolutely, I think Kemp came up when I was in 6th or 7th grade. Although some never liked his attitude, I thought he was an inspiration with the Beastmode concept and working hard everyday to get better. Love the guy. Once a Dodger, always a Dodger (unless you're Andruw Jones).
Could've easily though. You left a guy out...Broxton. He had a lot to do with it. Probably me, but WTF is it with these seasonally great LAD pitchers that are so phenomenal, then get to the playoffs and turn into Charlie Brown? Good grief.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to...actually I see him and Jason Schmidt as bookends in Ned's parlor...on the hutch next to the DVD of "Moneyball".
I heard about Kemp's arthritis on the radio driving in but did they say it was both his hips or both sets of lips?
