Chone Figgens anyone? The Dodgers were at his workout, just throwing it out there.

Let me see. He has never had power. He does not walk anymore. His OBP is horrid. However, he can play many positions.

I believe the Texas thing was a logical leap instead of a hard and fast desire given his ties to that state. We are going to have to call Casey Close mister opt out! Who's HanRams agent does anyone know?

That "could" be the product of playing in Seattle but good points nonetheless. Versatility would be the draw but it's going to be minor league deal with an invite so less risky. We will see.

We get the Figgins from four years ago and I would be ecstatic. However, after a bit of review of his stats, I saw that a few years ago he led the league in sac bunts. DBB will want him signed tomorrow.

You are correct, sir. I stand corrected, with egg on my face. I skimmed a headline with Hanley's name that also said Boras.

Sounds like the perfect guy for us!

Him and Michael Young will provide the "veteran presence".

lost in the story about kershaw's extension...
    • The Dodgers will continue to set the pace on future spending. But that spending level is backed up by an unmatched $340MM local TV revenue stream.
    makes me giddy :irish:

Dodgers may not be done spending [IMG]
    By AJ Mass | ESPN.com -- January, 16, 2014 10:33 AM ET

Clayton Kershaw and the Los Angeles Dodgers have reportedly come to terms on a new seven-year, $215 million deal. As Ramona Shelburne of ESPN Los Angeles explains, "It is the richest deal for a pitcher in Major League Baseball history, eclipsing the seven-year, $180 million contract Detroit gave Justin Verlander last winter, and his average annual salary of $30.7 million is the highest ever for any baseball player."

the greatest thing about that TV deal is this...Guggenheim doesn't even need it. lol they're by far the richest ownership group, controlling more than 180 Billion...which basically means that they can literally look to use every single cent of the 340M annually for the team and paying off their portion of revenue sharing. this is what we deserve after McCourt and Fox.
