    First place has nothing to do with it. Team is playing like shit and has been in an offensive slump for like the last month. Gonzalez's post game comments pissed me off too. The old if we win tomorrow we're 1.5 games up, problem is we can't take the Giants as just any other game because clearly they don't

    That ain't the only stat that matters. Also that thing you posted in quotes is filth and the Dodgers offense fails the eye test. It is far too reliant on home runs and there have been repeated failures to score with RISP. 12 times out of 20 games this month this team has scored 3 runs or less, that is just bad.

    I can see that in College football since their are only a limited number of games and each loss can affect the entire season. Unfortunately in this case it won't come true no matter how much we want it.

    Yes the eye test because it doesn't lie like you are trying to make the stats do.
    For one thing, the team has been struggling since mid-may, so don't just cherry pick June stats.
    The team is 16-21 over the last 37 games and has scored only 122 runs in that time. An average of 3.3 runs per game. Take out the 8 games against Colorado, who can't pitch to save their lives, and Dodgers have scored 81 runs in 29 games. Good for 2.8 runs a game, an average that if it were to carry out over the season would have the Dodgers with the worst offensive production in the league.
