I'll go ahead and agree with you that Arte foolishly has designs on calling the team the "Los Angeles Angels" and while the New York Yankees don't seem to give a shit about the New York Mets being from New York clearly the DSP Dodger fans don't ascribe to that line of thinking when it comes to the Angels.

Bigg difference. ....The Mets are in NY!

The Angels are not in LA. Had they kept their original LA name it might not be as much of a blatant stunt. They built a competitive franchise in their own market and began doing what BlueZoo described..sucking blood. Trying to creep into our market. I understand it is a business but the Angels desperately trying to be Los Angeles is perfectly worthy of despise. Their fans and the cheesy way the organization presents themselves..just unbearable.

"Light that baby up!" "Big game for the HALOS!" "It can happen" "Come out to the big A!" so gay.

The deeper I go into orange county the more sick my stomach gets. Honestly. Glad I don't live deep beyond the orange curtain. I'd puke.

    I hear you...

But LA stretches from San Clemente to Thousand Oaks these days. Drive 4+ hours on the freeway and never leave LA.

Arte is from AZ so maybe he's just fixated on wanting 'something' called LA? Who know?

I'm not going to get wrapped up in the wrath myself...

I agree that PROXIMITY makes Anaheim part of LA (metro). But I'm sure you know as a resident the complete culture of OC/LA are different. Someone from Tustin wouldn't go to New York and tell someone they are from LA. Guarantee it. They would say, "I'm from Southern California" or "Orange County".

I've lived in Norwalk, Long Beach, Anaheim, and Cypress. All extremely close to each other. Norwalk and Long Beach...completely different feel. Those county lines really mean a lot.

Honestly, if you don't know how the ownership of the Angels has ridden the coattails of the established LA team, with the complete idiocy and embarrassment of their present name, then I can't explain it to you. No way. "Blood suckers" is pretty damn simple to grasp. Self explanatory.
You can like them, root for them, suppport them...whatever you want--that's your Angel perrogative.
I fucking hate them, and put them (ownership) in the same class as leaches or remoras. Nothing you have written has any weight for me...not a thing.
It doesn't matter really if you don't get it. They will always be filthy viral scum until they change their name back to what they are, IMO.
It has jack shit to do with jealousy. I'm as "jealous" of them as I am of the SF Giants. No jealousy, just hatred.
I don't give a fuck about Pujols. I believe his day is coming. It has zero to do with spent money or Sandy Koufax or penny wise and pound foolish or pretty much anything you've mentioned. Apples and oranges.
If they win the Series, they should be proud to be the Annaheim Angels.
Their name is an embarrassment to BB. Desperation in a public form. Classless blood suckers. If they were in LA, they'd have a claim to the city's name....like the Mets do. If I were an Angel fan, I would hang my head since the laughable, low IQ, obviously jealousy induced name change.
No one says Disneyland is in LA...or do they?

I'm here behind enemy lines, Costa Mesa, and work in Downtown Long Beach. Oh yes, there are completely different feels between LA/OC county. Hell, LB feels different than the heart of LA if you ask me. And I don't think a person in the OC would be caught dead saying they "live" in LA when asked. Some of these areas *coughcoughNewportBeachcoughcough* are fuckin' bougie beyond belief.

And at this point, I think enough people know through media about Orange County. They may not know where it is (seriously some people didn't know where I grew up in Rancho Cucamonga/Rialto), but they know it's in Southern California.

Dilbeck in the LAT blog makes a case of keeping Sands down in AAA for awhile - unless he starts to rake:

I know that Castellanos needs a lot to learn 2B, but I would love for him to learn 3b as well. I hope in the minors he gets a hold of both in case Uribe goes down, or Ellis, he should be the first one called up. I'd much rather have Castellanos there rather than Russ fucking Mitchell (who I'm 82% sure will get the call if Uribe goes down)

Uribe is the Andruw Jones of 2012. Classic Ned contract, makes me mad as injured snake.
