Or... the vaunted brain trust of the Dodgers front office of Engineers is in over its 2.15 billion dollar heads.
I agree on the Chapman situation 100%. The police had looked into the situation and dropped the charges, but just now a month and a half later MLB finally hears about it? Not to mention the report that the Red Sox knew about it weeks before it was even reported. It's hard to tell on the physical because I doubt all 30 teams follow the same guidelines and look for the same things. It can't be THAT serious because the Mariners were willing to offer 2 years and the Dodgers are reportedly continuing negotiations, but I'm sure the Dodgers have to take extra precaution because he'll be 35 in April.
So chapman goes greg hardy on his lady....aledgedly and now iwakama may or may not have failed his physical. Awesome.
Thanks for your input, but MLB gets so anal on some things, yet seems so lackadasical on others. Maybe I'm just getting nuts because it's all happening to us, us, us. But it is goddam it...it is. They're so by the letter on Rose for breaking Rule 21, and I really get that, but all over the place on domestic violence...the traditional "sins" are all written in stone , like gambling and alcoholism, but the "modern" transgressions (or the awareness of them), are murky, man, murky.
^It's the NFL's fault for trivializing this issue and now it's become a run away train of over compensation. Much like sexual harrassment. NOT saying very case isn't valid nor the problem isn't real but damn.
may be a moot point with the purported failed physical but, if the deal had gone through as originally reported... you would have had 4 pitchers -- him, kersh*, ryu and mehcarthy -- all signed thru 2018 leaving exactly one spot *opt-out option
Jason A. Churchill (@ProspectInsider) 12/17/15, 9:33 PM M's make it official: Iwakuma back with Mariners.
....and with that, Chase (old man river) Utley vaults back to the top of our off-season food chain! Every trade these smug fux try to make will cost us more than anyone else. Jesus H Christ, the fucking grounds keeping superintendent is going to demand Seager spread the fucking fertilizer on the infield
So almost immediately after Stan Conte mysteriously resigns, someone actually fails a physical. It sucks to not get this guy, but if the physical says he's not right then maybe he's not right. It's actually surprising how rarely this happens.
Absolutely...when you think of Schmidt and McCarthy on LAD alone...it must have looked pretty bad, methinks.
i've been as hard as anyone on our front office, but props to them doing their due diligence imagine all the hatred had they not, and then he goes on the dl for an extended period
One spot is plenty, it's not like you are gonna bring up all the kids at once. And besides McCarthy would be on the 60 day DL.
Again the theme is no 6 year deals for a 30+ pitcher. At least they are sticking to that plan regardless if the populace is on a rampage.
