Im making progress. I didn't watch a second of the game. I still don't even know the score. I know we lost because of the posts, but I didn't have to suffer. I'm hoping tomorrow I can make even more progress. Not only refuse to watch but try not to see if we won or lost either. Baby steps. I'm hoping I can go two weeks without seeing a pitch, a score, or even knowing what's going on. Ideally, the entire season. I was all pro front office until this season. Then I was on the fence. Now, I'm done with them. Seriously. I don't agree with the idiots on the radio who act like the FO doesnt know baseball, but they've managed to put us further away from contention and even worse, have fielded the most boring team imaginable. I have no words right now. I really thought a lot of the things they did were good. But this is a results based business. And most of their moves have been flops. I just cannot believe the dumpster diving they've done. They really outsmart themselves. And as great as it is to boast the top farm system, I'm still terrified about our immediate and long term future. I think these psuedo economical rosters will be the death of us. This was perhaps the worst marriage of market and management you could find. Trust me, I thought they were geniuses for a while. Using money to get quality players in trades, keep our own prospects, etc. But they're horrible at the basics of fielding a good product. Screw them. I'm doing a horrible job articulating my thoughts. I'm tired.
I really am scared this whole experiment could blow up. I can see a scenario where we trade Kenley in July and he doesn't want to even consider coming back as a FA. I can really see Puig not turning it around. I can see Grandal being a bust. I don't care if he's the best defensive catcher of all time, he's a liability if nobody else can hit. I can see A Gon take a steep decline the next few years. Ryu never being the same. We're gonna be stuck with a bunch of bargain bin pitchers like Kazmir, and Mccarthy that aren't even bargains. I'm scared. How quickly the window closes.
he wasn't even close to the plate and yes they talked to him but it was clear he was rattled and before walking in the run had a ball hit to the wall that we all thought was gone
This Grandal shitfest isn't a recent development, although he's "improved" over the second half of '15. After his All-Star first half a year ago, he slashed .162/.280/.218 in the second half (when he wasn't hurt).
Framing...and it's beyond me how anyone can put defensive superlatives in with any description of him...I think he blows...he's the kind of catcher that will cost a game with a PB or a "WP" he shoulda blocked. Has good games now and then, like everyone. If AJ messes up, it's written about immediately...maybe as it should be. But if Grandal does, not until recently is it mentioned at all, only because he is bad at hitting, I think. Johnny Bench he's not.

"You should have seen them...they were something" ------------ Col. Shaw ( Matthew Broderick) in "Glory"
Los Angeles Dodgers @Dodgers now1 minute ago Utley 2B Seager SS Kendrick 3B Gonzalez 1B Thompson LF Pederson CF Puig RF Ellis C Maeda P I just don't understand why they're fucking over the 3 spot in the order like this. What did the 3 spot ever do to them?
don't care how good a framer he is -- and, granted, he's very good it doesn't offset the aforementioned .196/.275/.361 slash line yes, i've seen him deke umpires into calling (pitches off the plate) strikes but how much of an impact is that really in the big scheme of things? i mean, this team did pretty well before he got here with the oft-criticized aj behind the plate is there some sort of saber, er, tangible stat that shows how many wins he nets? no, of course not it's an intangible kinda like extra cheese on a big mac so if he goes on the dl how much of a loss is it? will we suddenly plunge from 3rd in the division to 4th? news flash -- we're headed there anyway i'm not trying to slam the guy, but (if he's injured) you could do a lot worse than having barnes come up if he hits .150 -- i'm sorry -- it's not going to be that noticable especially if the rest of the offense continues to suck alpaca choad
agreed roberts is a lemming why not tinker with the lineup how bag can you fuck it up when their already doing so poorly? move trayce and/or joc up there and what the fuck does it take to move turner down? how about something like... trayce lf chase 2b corey ss adrian 1b joc cf turner 3b ellis c pitcher puig rf and i'm only half kidding about putting puig 9th
I just want my top 5 hitters at the top..1-2-3-4-5..that's all I ask for. Order them bitches however you want, have Adrian leadoff for all I care. At some point I gotta start questioning..is Byron Scott filling out these orders...are we tanking?
lol fkags should be used to taking things up the ass by now wow homophobe Gay Men’s Chorus Group upset with Padres ESPN.com news services — 11 minutes ago The executive director of the San Diego Gay Men's Chorus called for an investigation by Major League Baseball and the San Diego Padres after a woman's voice singing the "Star Spangled Banner" was played over the public address system at Petco Park on Saturday while members of the chorus were on the field to sing the national anthem. Bob Lehman also called on the San Diego City Attorney's Office and San Diego Human Relations Commission to look into the incident. "What should have been a night of joy and celebration at Petco Park last night, instead turned into a nightmare raising serious questions about homophobia within the San Diego Padres organization and its relationship with the LGBT community," Lehman said in the lengthy statement Sunday. Lehman said that no attempts were made to stop the recording and allow the 100 volunteers from the chorus to sing the anthem and when the recording ended, the chorus members were escorted off the field to heckling from some "fans shouting homophobic taunts including 'You sing like a girl.'" Lehman said Padres CEO Mike Dee reached out to the group to apologize and "offer to meet with LGBT leaders to discuss the incident." The Padres had issued a statement Saturday night to address the incident. "This evening, during the pregame ceremony, a mistake was made in the Petco Park control room that prevented the San Diego Gay Men's Chorus from performing the National Anthem as scheduled. We apologize to anyone in the ballpark who this may have offended, and have reached out to the Chorus to express our deep regret for the error." Lehman said his group was "very disappointed" with the Padres' public statement and alleged that in the days before the game, representatives of the team had tried to discourage chorus members from singing on Saturday by demanding they purchase tickets to the game, only to relent on Friday after receiving complaints. "Three days before the game, San Diego Padres representatives aggressively sought to prevent singers from performing the National Anthem unless they purchased a ticket to the game-even if they did not plan to stay for the game-which was not part of any previous discussion or written or verbal agreement and would have cost the small, community-based non-profit thousands of dollars. The demand eventually was rescinded on Friday following repeated complaints made by SDGMC and San Diego Pride to San Diego Padres management. "With this as background, we call on the San Diego Padres and Major League Baseball to immediately launch a full and transparent investigation into the incident to determine if someone or some people intentionally engaged in anti-gay discrimination or a hate crime by playing a female's voice to represent a group of gay men with the purpose of denigrating and/or ridiculing gay men," Lehman said. Major League Baseball hasn't responded yet to requests for comment by ESPN.
