Color me [racist] shocked and corrected. I didn't say he was awful but he seems like he has taken a step back. Looked far better to me last season, especially his throws and turning DPs. Just goes to show you how the eye test is typically BS. The mind typically remembers the abnormal.
Fuck the stats, you're right. He's average with a great stick. He makes the plays he needs to, but he isn't exactly charging in and making bare hand plays or setting the world on fire. He's gone deep into the hole and used his arm to nail a few highlight reel plays, apart from that he does enough to be serviceable at short.
Now ESPN is saying this win doesn't really mean anything because Edwin Jackson won't be on the playoff roster. This is less than 24 hours after another ESPN tool said winning the series against the Gnats don't mean anything...that the Dodgers have to win against a playoff team like the Nats. Talk about ESPN bias.
he's a 6'4" ss and if he can be serviceable in that position thats a plus w JT at third although potentially JT could move to second i guess technically corey could move to second as well or first fwiw but the way we are constructed its a good thing if he's playing an average d at ss he's not ozzie smith or some latin glove making up the middle extra strong but then neither is yas or CT/Kike since Joc can't hit getting this offense on a roll makes up for a lot of the little things
Yeah. I agree. Not ragging on the guy, but let's not kid ourselves into thinking he's ever going to be in a gold glove discussion lol.
reynolds was saying similar shit on mlb network surprisingly pedro came to the dodgers' defense reynolds: "we'll just have to agree to disagree" whatev, idc only way to shut them up is to win it all
Just how good was Wood against Washington? Three of his eight punchouts came against Daniel Murphy, who went three full years (from the 2014 All-Star break through the 2017 All-Star break) without whiffing three times in a game.
and not to belabor the point (even though that's exactly what i'm doing) but mr. september grandal -- now 1-for-34 for the month -- needs to ride the pine don't care that washington is throwing righties the next two games in fact, it adds to the point... barnes leads mlb in ba against rhp, slashing .356/.472/.483 in 106 pa that is all
and even though baez ended up pitching a scoreless inning i still don't trust his dumb ass walking the first two hitters, he was extremely lucky to get out of the inning unscathed morrow is 100x better and brock looked pretty damn good too [homo]
It was the perfect time to give him an inning, although he tried his best to fuck it up. However, to be fair he had Werth struck out. But like Kaat pointed out erratic pitchers like Baez don't get those calls. Liked what Stewart did, too. Let's see him do it in a higher leverage situation before I consider for a playoff roster spot over Stripling.
