the point being that 5 tool players EXIST.

For one to claim that hitting for average AND power is not possible is to ignore 100+ years of measuring 5 tool baseball players.

Thank you for your renewed focus

At his age it was a bit much but the option was club only and for only 250k.

That was a major Ned mistake not protecting him. Could have been the playoff difference. We tried to sneak him through and blew it.

Hiroki Kuroda Plans To Return To Hiroshima Carp
By Jeff Todd [December 26, 2014 at 6:38pm CST]

Veteran righty Hiroki Kuroda is planning to return to the place where he made his name, the Hiroshima Carp of Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball league. Japanese media outlets Nippon and Chugoku Shimbun reported the news earlier today, with Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com reporting via Twitter that Kuroda was in fact headed back to Japan.

Soon to turn 40 years of age, Kuroda remains every bit as sturdy and effective as ever. Since coming to the big leagues from NPB back in 2008 — his age-33 season — Kuroda has never ended a season with an ERA over 3.76. In seven MLB campaigns, he owns a 3.45 ERA with 6.7 K/9 and 2.0 BB/9.

Of course, Kuroda had entire separate career in Japan before he came stateside. He broke in at age 22 and threw 11 seasons, all with Hiroshima. His numbers there looked quite similar to his big league marks: 3.69 ERA with 6.7 K/9 against 2.4 BB/9.

Kuroda will no doubt take a significant pay cut to return to the Carp, but he has the luxury to choose his destination at this point in his career. He ultimately earned a total of $88.3MM over his time in the big leagues, mostly through short-term deals as he continually chose to keep his options open rather than committing to a lengthy pact.

It's now been 10 days since the report that the Dodgers would sign Brett Anderson, and that deal isn't done. No one seems to care.

Anybody else a little concerned or at least curious about this?

Nope. He doesn't show up on any of the sites that have unofficial payrolls (baseball reference etc.)nor is he on the Dodgers 40-man roster.

if the 40 and 25 man rosters are full who do you take off and perhaps lose to make room for him. Dre traded for prospects might create some space but for now?

    Heisey
    Dre
    CC
    SVS
    Puig
    Joc

A surplus of infielders some who are pricey non starters

Is this a roster squeeze that will require a lot of bucks to be eaten?

Calls are going to be made on Smith, Venable and Maybin before they ever ask about Dre.

They forgot about Dre. Cue the music.

Rumor has it Ned "advised" Stan to look at it again and ask Drew to consider Brett Tomko. Now everyone is confused.

yup. and teams are still looking at free agent guys like Aoki, Rasmus, Gomes, Ludwick, and Ichiro as well. not an easy OF market to deal in..i felt like we'd be well into January before Kemp got moved, but then Seattle and the others left the table/didn't feel he was worth the asking price. and that deal turned out to be touch and go too.
