Not really, the art of the stolen base is barely recognizable. Plus this is a sophomore year situation in which the opposing teams will be making adjustments on Dee.
So far the team looks great. OK, really good, then. They are getting the things done that need to be-that wins ball games on a consistent basis. Like today...outs that move a runner over, and get them in scoring position. Particularly great ABs by Ethier, Sellers, and of all people, UrineBe. Lily needs bunting practice, but he gets paid to pitch , I guess. Excellent and smart baserunning, ten the big hit. Basically with the way they've been throwing, 4/5 runs per look good in most games. I hope this keeps up...I'm curious to see what the team does coming out of a winning ST. We haven't really had one in a long time, I don't think. Could be a good sign.
ESPN fantasy analysts debate if Dee Gordon is a boom or bust candidate this season. One of them goes as far to say that Gordon will be in the minor leagues by May. "Does not hit the ball with authority" "One of the weakest hitters in the majors" "Can't hit the ball out of the infield" "light hitter"
The funny thing about every single opinion said is that you all could be correct. He could steal like 15 and get sent down or he could steal 70+ We have no idea how good he is going to do this year, it could realistically go either way.
I recall a guy named Juan Pierre who they said absolutely the same things about. Seems to me he's still around. There are many other examples. BB is a sport where a weak hitter , if he knows how to use what else he has, can have a carrer as good as the next guy. Maybe he won't be shit, But...Don't write this kid off yet. Fuck ESPN. The had a lightning round of viewer questions one night...and someone asked "can Matt Kemp be a 50/50 player like he says"...and the guy (whoever the douchebag was) laughed and said "are you kidding- no way"! They hate the Dodgers...I believe a few of them would felate Buster Posey in prime time on Saturday night if he asked...
How dare he express skepticism that Kemp can accomplish something that's never been done in 150 years of pro baseball!
I think 45 hes extremely fast but ill be fair here hes not going to get on base every time hes up thats unreal
