@Bluezoo That's really cool that you're a sculptor. A friend of mine did it for the movie industry and then did toys. Some of his stuff is mind blowing. He's famous in that space. Ever heard of Jerry Macaluso?
You guys are kicking ass with all the stories, keep it going guys. It is nice to know about everyones backgrounds like this, and all thanks to William Bailey.
adler used to date this girl lisa from the block and he would always come around we called him stevie lisa cause he was like her pet i used to work w him at a place that sold computer hardware to litton guidance and raytheon etc mil spec stuff that required you to actually read up on tolerances and stuff since it was going to be used on shuttles and such he was dumb as a rock and constantly made costly mistakes that cost shit tons of money so i truly hated that fucker but before that we used to party together on occasion and i was more friends w lisa there was just nothing to talk to him about because he was seriously not able to hold conversations at all kinda like talking to you dog only less rewarding but he had a really sad family story so we all sort of accepted he was a part of the neighborhood his dad was a motherfucker and his mom barely tolerated him being around used to go to chatsworth park and he would have his drum kit set up right in front of the gym pounding away he worked at those things really hard i have to say, at some point he just lived it one day i'm hanging out w my still best friend by his house and we see this skinny guy w GIANT hair walking towards us guess he had taken the bus or something and fuck if it isn't stevie lisa so he has flyers and starts telling us he's in this band and we should come see them on sunset we are just laughing at the site of him but at the same time patting him on the back, you know schoolboy street asshole shit i didn't hang on to the flyer and we didn't take him too seriously so we didn't go about a year later i'm watching mtv and fuck if that isn't stevie lisa and he made the show! my buddy and i tried to reach out to him when he was driving around shooting up trying to kill himself after the band kicked him out unfortunately he stroked out and we never heard from him again except for the guy you all see now still smiles as big as a billboard and plays around town w his band don't think his mom works at brents deli anymore in a world full of people only some born to fly isn't that crazy? seal wish for him he could still play well enough to be in the band i know its killing him inside gotta get off the hard stuff
Damn I forgot all about velvet revolver. I think twelve year old me played that album on loop on my way to school most every day.
Dodgers should be slamming little bottles of Pacifico being that we in the westcoast. On second thought, the owners of that company are.... nevermind. I talk too much and im Mexican so I should know better. Ill let yall do storytime today. Its been very entertaining. I used to sometimes lurk around the old GNR forums back in the day. People would be creaming in their pants for some of these stories you guys got.
89 was the first year of 12 sober years in the life of the devil i went to AA for a year until i couldn't take it anymore i went to the really sick places because, well, i was really sick there were literally hundreds of people that knew those guys first hand all the stories had one common thread axl is an asshole im sure he still is but he was running out of money oh i have one other gnr story i forgot not really much of a story but in 89 i underwent rotator cuff surgery and one day at physical therapy i was sitting there w Duff i didn't say anything to him because i don't really like to bother people that get bothered all the time i did ask the receptionist (juanita w the hair dyed a crazy shad of red...miss her sometimes but thats another story) ok i'll tell that story too cause she was really fucking sexy and i'll never forget the first time she fucked me i was sitting in her condo and she was showing me how clean the place was and walking around in this tight little dress she walks over and stands in front of me and says "you know i can fuck whoever i want" and i'm like yeah i'm sure you can she slides one leg out of her thong and it drops to the floor on the other leg i had my dick out before it hit the floor and proceeds to mount and ride me for a quick couple of minutes because i exploded she then got up and grabbed a warm towel and cleaned us both up...had a kid that was out of control though so anyway she told me Duff was there for therapy on his fingers because he had serious issues
I love stories with a happy ending. Glad Duff fixed his fingers because that dude is legit. My favorite GnR guy was the first one who exited the band. Izzy Stradlin. Loved his playing. I even had one of his solo albums with the Juju hounds. He reminds me a lot of the guitarist for the chili peppers, and a little bit myself.
That is amazing. hopefully Tonight we finish the sweep beating Zack.. #BeatDbags we wins we swim we lose we drinks..
:madbum::madbum:No pool dipping.... killing my wet dream.... fuck it can we put Grienke and Bumgarner on the same bike hitting the tree?
I don't know that name, but he probably came substantially after me. I tried my own company sculpting and casting resin dinosaurs, did OK as a small garage kit one man operation initially. But then Jurassic Park came out, and 50, ooo dino figures were on the shelf everywhere, and I got blown away like Yasiel whiffing at a slider away last year. But for a short time, very short time, indeed, I was one of the very few resin dino model companies out there. Does your friend work for McFarland by any chance?
Once, I was in the beginning montage of a Denzel movie about basketball, where I shouldn't have been, and not alone...watching a basketball game down in Greenwich Village. Coulda been the weirdest bust in history. Had no idea filming was going on at all. Guess that's what they were looking for. Another time in Central Park on a blanket sunbathing, they filmed a commercial with a model walking two Borzois. There I was, in the background. Lol.
Man, I am fucking nervous/excited for this game tonight as it is a huge test for the team going forward. If Darvish comes out and deals like he did in his last couple of outings, this team turns back into the most dangerous club in the playoffs. When Darvish is right, he is a top 5 pitcher in baseball and pairing that with Kershaw + the Wood/Hill narrative should lead to a long playoff run. If he is anything like that stretch where he was getting hit hard and not striking out as many guys and I'll be pretty worried about our chances. I want to see this team go for the throat tonight!
He was most recently in the toy industry and just sold his company. This is his work: http://www.popcultureshocktoys.com/en/ He also did a lot of stuff back in the day http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0531218/
I gotta say that I agree with Dave's take on the pool. 100%. We ragged on them last year, gave them the ultimate smack in the mouth. Then they watched us lose to the Cubs, and NOT go again. Having the class to not do it again is what a superior organization would do. To have the power, and not to use it, is real power.
