Know what? This kid Knack, rook or not with the after momentary HR lapse, temporary replacement (?) for Miller or whoever, can be plugged right into the rotation, imo. And the fact he got his pitch count right in control directly after that gift inning is a great thing, along with 90+ length. In fact, he's as good as Yamamoto. There. I've written it.
And I credit this turn around which started last night, to Outman, who will not get noticed. but his timely hit juiced eveyone, and it's continued. All hail James.
regular lineup sb Rojas at ss, Lux at 2nd, Mookie back in rf, Teoscar in lf and let Outman and Pages battle/platoon in center imo let em play together for 20 games and see how things go not like the division looks too challenging at this point but tater really thinks Mook at ss was sheer brillance on his part and likely won't scuttle that all year
It was good to see a game with both Mookie and Ohtani hitting the ball, and both plus Freeman drove in 2 each. Finally! However, I'm more encouraged by the progress from the bottom of the order. Outman went 0 for 5 but the key is no strikeouts, and of course this is on the heel of his big hit on Tuesday. Lux also with no K's and his hit balls are starting to drop in. And Pages with his best game yet. If the bottom three get going, this team will improve exponentially.
Roberts: "You say Outman and Lux are finding their groove? Here, hold my beer..." Betts Ohtani Freeman THern KHern Pages Taylor Rojas Barnes Kike in the 5-hole? I seriously am at a loss for words.
Teoscar HR was nice and then runners on first and third with no outs. You're thinking big inning, right? Wrong, CT Strike 3 and then two popups.
I have to admit, Yamamoto is better out of the gate than I thought he'd be. Let me counterbalance the positivity by wondering when Taylor is going to be taken out behind the barn. It feels like we've been stuck with his ugly game for decades. I'd rather have Zach Lee at this point.
Wow. Five innings in the books and Yoshi has thrown 56 strikes on 78 pitches? Wtf is this? A quality start?
Yeah, good game by Yamamoto. Got some good revenge on these turds, but before we think we're baack, yesterday and today were like, uh...night and day. It's the Roberts formula...they're basically good enough to make him look savvy. But just remember, it's the Nats. We were so bad in the spell, they looked pretty damn good. CJ Abrams is a really terrific ball player. We need to pull out all the stops with the Jays.
Slightly disagree on Yamamoto....thought he pitched a great game. Nats barely laid a glove on him, although Rosario almost killed him. Didn't hurt having Stevie Wonder behind the plate, either. Vesia pitching well of late. Nice recovery from his fielding blunder. Phillips looked like the Phillips we know and love (in a manly way). Agree completely on Abrams. Stud. Glad the Pads dealt him.
I honestly don't know what your disagreeing with ( Yamamoto), but no matter. I can't believe the Pads didn't see what this Abrams had, but like LA, must be the " embarrassment of riches" thing. Wish he was on the Dodgers.
