Kinda hope ARod wins his appeal.

 

Yup.
The only reason the Yankees want him gone now is because he's old, sucks, and is a dent in their payroll. If he was a roider who was still good (2009), they'd welcome him with open arms and be helping A-Rod in his testimony.

This isn't a moral issue. The Yankees just wanna get out of a bad contract they agreed to. They should NOT be able to get out of it. The reason they were able to get him signed again in his prime is because they took a bigger risk nobody else could make. Now they don't have to be accountable for their risk? They had no problem bringing him back after his initial PED admission and help them win a WS. But when he's not so good anymore they're all in favor of a ban. Pathetic.

 

That is the only reason I want ARod to win his appeal.

The Yanks get to reap the rewards of ARod playing at a HOF level but as soon as he gets old and isn't elite anymore, they get out of the contract. Fuck that.

If ARod loses his appeal then I hope they at least force the Yanks to pay the rest of his contract.

ARod is going to hire the absolute best of the best for his appeal. Hope they come through.

 

I feel it guys. IMO, it's win win either way to me. On the other hand, ARod is going to make a lot of money or he isn't. Should the Yankees get ripped because they were lied to by ARod? Think if it was our team like Manny. By the Yankees get stuck paying for the contract, then ARod makes even more money and won't even be earning it. I wish there was a way they'd both get royally fucked.

I'm sick of the label 5 tool player being thrown around for great ballplayers. Do people know what the 5 tools are? it seems anyone that has power and runs fast is a 5 tool now...NOT!
I just saw a Subway commercial and they refer to Trout as a five tool player. Trout does not have a great throwing arm, average at best. He's only a 4 tool player...a STRONG 4 tool.
Harper is another one I eliminate. He doesn't hit for a high average(.270)....4 tools?
Josh hamilton was considered 5 tool. Sorry, he's never stolen more than 9 bases. Not really a fast guy...so he's very borderline.
Kemp was a 5 tool player(arguable he wouldn't get the glove part but he did win a GG).
Puig looks to be a true 5 tool player.

Lets spread the word and quit watering down the 5 tool label. :soapbox:

 

If you're going to be that picky, then by your standards Puig isn't a 5 tool player. He won't be a career .300 hitter (most likely)

 

I'd sign this guy to a minor league contract immediately...

Rays Release Ramon Ramirez

Rays right-hander Ramon Ramirez has been granted his release from Triple-A Durham, the team announced on Twitter. The 31-year-old veteran had signed a minor league deal with Tampa Bay back on July 1 after being designated for assignment by the Giants in mid-June.
Ramirez allowed seven earned runs in 5 2/3 innings with the Giants this year but excelled as a setup man from 2008-12, posting a 3.04 ERA with 7.5 K/9 and 4.0 BB/9 in 343 innings with the Royals, Red Sox, Giants and Mets. He's enjoyed a strong season in the minors in 2013, compiling a 3.31 ERA with 10.7 K/9 and 3.8 BB/9 in 35 1/3 innings between the Giants and Rays organizations.
