Once a team is clearly done for, they can save their A game for their rivals and make lesser efforts vs that team's competition out of spite. It's just clear that LA's divisional dominance the last decade has the have-nots twisted up. So, once Frisco had the position to displace LA, all the Pads & DBacks had to do was NOT play Frisco as arduously as they played LA. It's obvious. It's horseshit. And it's also common in other rivalries and in other sports. LA could have avoided this if Roberts wasn't such a dickless fool & Bellinger had been benched for two months to let him heal up.
