Win today, sweep the Padres, then we’ll be dancing all over DSP and start setting up World Series rotations.

Whatever happens, happens. I’ll stay optimistic for a little while longer

Maybe if he wasn't in one of those Carrera deathtraps and in an Enzo he might have turned the corner a little better.

I had two other friends famously die in one of those. Too much car for the average, untrained schmuck and P should have required passing a course before purchase.

I loosely agree having driven a friends Carrera too fast, seeing that it handles like it's on rails.. until it doesn't. Still the breakaway moment was highly predictable and gradual.. so long as you kept your foot on the gas.

I think 'some' form of enhanced driver training should accompany purchasing ANY car with more than.. what.. 500HP? because of the hazards presented driving them. I drove another friends 600 HP Mustang and that was far more unruly than the Carrera, tires lit up in 3rd gear even when you didn't want them to. Far too much unruly power for most drivers. My buddy sold it for the 650HP Camaro which handled way better but still... handled way better for a bloated American pig chassis. Another friend with a 440HP Challenger he can't control comes to mind. Ditto with the guy down the block who traded his Viper in for a Vette solely because he could control it easier.

And don't get me started on the yocals buying 707HP Dodge demon Chargers/Challengers/Ram's/Jeeps as none of those vehicles can steer worth shiite BEFORE you put 707HP into them. And now 808HP from an American sled?!?! At your own risk indeed.

    Lol.
Grindstone...but you have to give him credit, I think...talking like that and as a Dodger team mate is pretty cool of him. Don't exactly know what he means, I see no promising horizons, but an attempt by him to fortify a despondency in fans to something hopeful, is above and beyond what you would expect.
    Bravo, Manny.

Yeah really @Bluezoo what do we expect? I mean they are ball players. Nothing more. Just hit the ball, field the ball, that's it. Why we expect them to be superior mental humans is inexplicable. But that's what happens when we idolize sports stars.

At least Manny tried to put a good 'game face' on it

sometimes that is the best you can do and it goes a long way
that kind of attitude buys you more time on the grind
    but i get it
we have had plenty of players on the grind this year
guys who had it and then lost it because of injury or sophomore slump or whatever
then they have to break it all down and start controlling their posture and hands and start killing spiders and snakes before they can rise up to kill wolves and greater beasts.
yeah, the level grind sucks, you know you have the ability to bust out a critical hit but you know that you need to stay tight within the zone grind away as you rebuild your muscle memory and hone your sword so you can get back to killing the high level monsters again, like the one in fenway.
Puig did it first, then JT and now Bells and Manny are out of the level grind. Max and Kemp are starting to get out of it. Kemp is hitting lately and Muncy still not hitting enough but when he does its for extra bases.

Wasn’t the rumor that Porsche’s chief test driver said the Carrera GT was the only car that scared him?

It wouldn't surprise me. Cory's wife's lawyer sued and got P to accept partial liability, then they discontinued the car. ;)

Jay Leno almost killed himself in one too. He was on an oval track trying to participate is some event/record, and he was one of the first drivers. The GT swapped ends on him on one of the banked corners, he barely missed the concrete barrier on the inside part of the track. Could have messed up bad.

On the other hand, who knows if Leno had the skills to drive such a car.

This is really make or break time. 4.5 back would really put us in a hole.
