@THEREAL_DV ·1h Dave Roberts said Bobby Miller will start one of the first two NLDS games. What a start to Bobby's career....glad he gets a good road test tonight
Compared to the LA offense, the broadcast team are the fucking '27 Yankees, bro. It's no secret, obviously, but is there even an offense out there recently ? These guys are swinging like rusty gates, as we said as kids. Jeez, get it together a little bit, for crissakes. Sad, man. Saltpeter.
Coulda made book on the Mariners getting right on base immediately after they go out and get Miller a 3 run lead. Just so predictable. Looks like a different pitcher entirely. A rook is a rook is a rook.
I remember a few weeks ago Roberts said he was going to start managing Miller to a lower pitch count until the playoffs since this is the most innings he's ever thrown. Seems he's done the exact opposite.
Congrats to the kid, reaching double-digit wins in just a partial season. He's pitched well, and he's been fortunate with the run support. Definitely encouraging to see his promise for the future.
I blame this board for making me think like that, but when the umpire called that strike 3, I thought the same thing.
Things tend to go to hell quickly for Miller. He's been a revelation, but he's got to deal with adversity a little better.
Thanks to Miggy (of all people) for turning this one around. Didn't think they were going to get anything against Kirby. Nice job by the pen (again) picking up for Miller. Second shaky outing in a row for Phillips. Thought Mariner hitters missed a couple of hangers. Brasier has been lights out and Bazooka continues to get hitters out with consistency. Nice to see Outman awake from his short slumber.
Philips, although season long dependable and almost perfect, is cause for a wee bit of concern. What a time to go wobbly. Agree that some of his pitches were very fungoolish and center cut hittable. Hope he gets it all back and reestablishes in the next couple of weeks...everybody's going to have to be sharp as hell with this walking wounded staff we're dealing with. If Outman can arise Phoenix-like, so can he.
This Kershaw start might as important a start as the team's had all year. Dodgers' postseason chances might be riding on it. Hopefully it's the early season Kershaw and not the one of his last two starts.
