well ddb says we have to win it in SF Dodgers manager Don Mattingly had a slightly different view, however. At the time speaking before the Giants suffered a loss Friday night, Mattingly said he is of the belief the Dodgers will need to win in San Francisco in order to be crowned division champions: “We’re three away. We’ve got to get three somehow. We talked about it in the press conference the other day – we gotta win three games so we’re going to have to win a game in San Francisco, in my mind. That’s just the way I want to continue to look at it. If we can’t win there and can’t get it done there, then we don’t deserve to do it. We can win there. So I’m not concerned about that.” so glad to have such a strong leader
what a fucken tool Mattingly: "If we can’t win [in San Francisco] and can’t get it done there, then we don’t deserve to do it." hey einstein... the giants are better than the rockies if you can't win in colorado, then why do you still deserve it? nice fucken logic
Who knows what he is talking about...so fucking confusing. I try, as I imagine so many others do, to get on board (somewhat) with DBB, but it's truly futile. When he says shit like this, I understand about the head-scratching moves he makes so often. I used to say "he may not be a wordsmith, but doing it with the team on the field is where it counts the most". But sadly, he's even worse there. To use his own " logic"...if you can't do it, Donnie...you just don't deserve it anymore.
Donnie was a truly great ballplayer...border line HoFer...a gamer. Uncommon talents and abilities. But, after all is said and done, those of us who have been through the wars...can you really blame his wife?
We will indeed get eliminated in the first round. Bye bye home field. I'm so effing pissed that we didn't sack up and keep HFA. We will go into the playoffs with the worst NL record.
