I'm going to Kershaw v Cole tomorrow in Pittsburgh

 

Should be 5 ER, I expect it will be when neutral eyes take a look at that first batter of the game "hit"

 

You can't stop Greinke this year.

 

I'm probably alone on this, but I feel exactly the same way when Jansen is in there. Exactly.
Every time I feel bad that I do, he without fail, fucks up and is either weak or very lucky, like today.
I just don't see winning in the playoffs, should we go, with this BP as it is now.
Not a chance...

 

Is there anything better than a comeback win? So awesome and they feel like such momentum builders.

There's a little bit of Broxton in him in terms of whether he'll pull through in clutch situations, but I don't think he's really been put through his paces in the playoffs in terms of save opportunities.

So it's kinda unfair to knock him too much.

Saw a post that said Greinke in his last 8 starts faced 210 hitters and gave up 4 runs... today first 5 hitters = 5 runs

Now for a real test. Even ESPN knows it, airing 2 of the 3 games in Pittsburgh.

Seriously. Too perfect a pitching matchup to happen as planned (national TV and everything), expecting a rainout and double-dip on saturday.

 

I know what I see...and it's not only him I fear pitching in the post, if we go.
He's just part of a unit that I have little faith in on any type of consistent basis.
You can win with two monumental guys up front like we have...it is possible for sure.
But, Kenley notwithstanding, combined with the jerkoff pushing the buttons, the BP is not on par with the rest of the team.

 

Now that we're at the 2/3 point of the season, game #108, here is an interesting article breaking the first 108 games in 54 game segments.

What I found interesting was that the Bullpen ERA is almost a run higher than the FIP in the last 54 games, so some regression will take place. Also, the outfield as a whole was awful in that segment (.676 OPS), and despite all of that, they put up the same record in each segment (31-23) and are one game better than this point last year.

 

Gonna be an epic series this weekend

 

I know this was for VRP, but it was honestly one of the best stadiums I have ever been too. Miller Park was right up there as well.
