The homer/optimistic me, thinks we have a shot to win 2 games.

Realistically, I think we'll be lucky to win game three. Fernandez and Slowey have been solid and will likely dominate our lineup. Game 3 will be a toss up. We'll probably see one of the infamous DBB retarded Sunday lineups, so we might lose that one, too.

 

I know, I know. I'm just trying to be optimistic though. I mean we may see Puig at some point. I have to imagine he'll carry us to a win at least once!

 

If we get swept again they might as well start asking MLB if they can just buy wins

IDK why, but the old quip ,"are they still in the league ?" seems to be appropriate for us at this time.
And who was it, Whitey Herzog, who said "the Dodgers? Those sonofabitches can't hit"...now we can't pitch either. Worst fielders in the game. We have become "The Daffiness Boys" redux, for all those ancient Dodger history fans.
I was thinking about the physical status of all our big-time, big-money players. Crawford is at best, a part time player. Kemp after missing a huge chunk of last year, has become for whatever reasons, a pretty average ( maybe) middle of the lineup guy. Ethier has had his pinky problems and is pretty meh, and Gonzo looks like he is increasingly become more brittle as the years roll on and without much power now? And Hanley, is of course, is Mr.DL now for two reasons, IMO, this season, which are fucking bogus and stupidity personified. It's all "but when they get right-watch out, man"!
Forget about the pitching staff. With Beckett, Capuano, Lilly, and Greinke either flat out sucking or injured.
Of course there's always Ellis, too. Guy must really be hurt.
I'm seeing one thread running through all of this, aside from a couple of players...age. Old, man, old. And certain injuries can make you "old".
And the youngsters, like Dee and Sellers and whoever else, just aren't good enough to make a difference. Don't hold a candle to the other teams young players, I say. Nowhere near. And the great LAD pitching is floundering like George Clooney's fishing boat in a typhoon.
