Somebody said something similar last year before the Winter Meetings had even begun

And resigning Greinke wll be the top move we make this post, with manager second...the way it's playing out. And really manager is no a "move" per se.
But unless we do get Greinke, the much ballyhooed, genius brass of the LAD, so well heeled and "powerful"as they are considered, haven't done that well in getting the front running " get the team to the WS" type players, have they?
Nice move dumping Kemp and all, getting Grandal ( utter collapse notwithstanding). In the long run IDK about Dee/Kendrick move into 2016, when we are looking at Utley and a kid as a replacement for HK and Dee theoretically...was it all so brilliant?
We all hated Rollins...Anderson, McCarthy, Latos, Wood, Peralta, Johnson and a host of other acquisitions, however we got 'em, were fucking yawns. Not exactly the impact players we thought they were...
And at the deadline big pitching fish sweepstakes, we got mediocrity personified. Or pure Latoshit.
There's a lot out there we could use...I think, if we don't sign Zack, after him, we shit the bed. Big time. Sign some more guys we write " slick depth/ versatility move by the FO"...the future looks so bright. Lol.
We have some gaping holes to fix, and Corey Seagar is not going to fill them all...he's only one guy.
Outside of outstanding individual performances by some players, LA just continues on, SABR or old school, as guarter century plus losers. Even if we do get ZG/mgr., we still need lots to just get back to 15's level. We had ZG at his best, numerically a good D/O I read, and we still, even with HK/Grandal/whoever...fail .
IDK why we entered and continued in the modern era as bridesmaids, but we've got this shit down pat.

That's really when it starts as far as activity, sure their will be some deals that get done around thanksgiving, but most stuff will happen in December, and in January/February for the Boras clients.

Winter Meetings were off the chain last year especially. Non-stop action.

I'm interested in news on one 1 Boras client...Ryu.

What are you talking about!? It's almost been a whole week since free agency started and two weeks since the World Series ended! The Dodgers haven't signed Greinke, Price, Cueto, Zimmermann, Cespedes, Gordon and Heyward yet so they're all off the board, and they haven't traded for Trout, Bryant, Correa and Yadi yet. Everyone is set for Spring already, but us! This front office sucks!

I expect in the next weeks it's just addressing depth, and I hope they find a way to add CF depth for Triple A

You obviously can't get like Cameron Maybin and stash him in Triple A, but considering that right now the depth behind Joc is praying Enrique can play CF better and isn't needed elsewhere or that Peraza can play it, it wouldn't be bad to get someone who can actually play CF. which basically makes me think of only Chris Heisey but I would hope they could develop a better, realistic option

Stubbs is a guy they could stash in AAA probably. He had a REALLY bad year last year, but his ability to hit lefties in the past (.276/.350/.454) could make him a solid platoon option if he can show he can put it back together.

As far as AAA CF depth goes, should probably keep an eye on Andrew Toles and his progress. Recently signed with a lot of minor league success under his belt. Still just 23yrs old as well. Maybe he needs a year to get back in the swing of it all...maybe he doesn't.

Rasmus and Wieters have both taken the QO now. I still don't think that Anderson takes it, but it will be interesting.

this, from an LA Times writer
and they wonder why print media is dying...
    urias is bob ojeda?

OK, here’s where I roll the dice. For the last 18 months, the rumor has been that Miami would unload Giancarlo Stanton for the right package of players. I would offer Miami the following for Stanton: Puig, Guerrero and minor leaguers Julio Urias and Chris Anderson. And we can throw in a couple of lower-level prospects if they want.

Puig, I think, will never match what he did his first few weeks here and will have chronic injury problems. Guerrero just won’t get the playing time in L.A. he needs, but could get it in Miami. And I am not as enamored with Urias as scouts are. I’ve seen him pitch and he doesn’t strike me as the next Kershaw. He’s more like the next Bob Ojeda. I think Jose DeLeon will have a better career as a starter. Anderson could develop into a solid No. 3 starter for the Marlins.

Stanton is from the area (he went to Sherman Oaks Notre Dame High) and is one of the premier power hitters in the game. Sure, he will only be in the second year of a 13-year, $325-million deal, but he only gets $9 million of that next season and he has an opt-out clause in 2020, when he will be making $26 million a year at only 30 years old. So we are really looking at a five-year, $100 million deal for Stanton, because when does a player ever not opt out?

Stanton gives the Dodgers the right-handed power threat they need and will make a great left-right combo with Adrian Gonzalez.

So, with that trade, we remove $14.714 million from the payroll (Puig and Guerrero) and add $9 million.

Final 2016 payroll: $236.198 million. Much lower than the $300 million payroll of 2015, and we suddenly have this lineup: Turner, Zobrist, Gonzalez, Stanton, Grandal, Seager, Ethier and Pederson/Hernandez. With Ellis, Peraza, Van Slyke, Schebler, Crawford and Pederson or Hernandez on the bench. You add in money they still owe Matt Kemp, and a buyout due for Bronson Arroyo, and you get to around $246 million.

Wieters all banged up and not able to perform as well...might as well. He's still young enough to regain form and really carve out a nice deal if he does.

Rasmus crazy 4 life tho. Longest deal I could see him getting in the future is maybe a 2yr deal. Maybe.

    Anderson's in that age group.

You think the guy that refused to play him in LA is going to play him in Miami?

I don't quite agree with you...way overboard with your examples... but I'll give you, they are overrated.
    Good call.

Hah, Puig is injury prone, but Stanton isn't. And yeah that Urias kid that just turned 19 is already a bust. Who the fuck was this hack?

Wieters was smart to take it. If he can return to his pre-TJ form, he'll get a nice contract next year.

Possibly...very possibly. The expectations in Miami are far less than they were in LA...another universe.
No opportunity for OJT in LA...plenty in FL.
    You could be right, though.
