After Saturday's games I expected something similar tonight. I was wrong. The parade to the foul line ruined the tempo of the game.
So ILB Zach Brown picks the Skins 1yr offer over the RAIDERS' 1yr offer..not happy about that and at the end of the day, I don't think he will be either because the Skins are obviously in terrible shape as an org. But nobody really wanted to open the bank vault for Brown..only got 4.5M from the Skins. Shit, Brown got a couple mill less than old man Timmons did from Miami. So RAIDERS will probably just try to bring Perry Riley back, who graded out better than Brown last year anyway, but isn't the same kind of athlete that Brown is..or not and they'll draft a kid..probably both knowing how Reggie likes to supplement FA. Disappointed that they couldn't land any impact FAs on the defensive side, but like Reggie said at the meetings, they're about to open the bank vault for Mack/Carr/Jackson over the next couple months and then of course Beast Mode has to get his share of loot as well. Karl Joseph made them the #1 defense in opposing QBR when he was on the field, so a healthy year from him will impact the D greatly anyway, but this year's draft just got a hell of a lot more interesting. A trade back out of the 24th slot could be an option..pick up some more day 2 and day 3 picks and get volume out of a deep defensive draft. Looks like they're gonna try to infuse the D with some youth ala Atlanta and see what Pagano can do w/that. Also, it'll be interesting to see if they make a play for Richard Sherman..they'd have to include a big contract like Sean Smith's to offset the cap numbers since things are tight w/payroll, but it's an idea that's been tossed around by the talking heads. Not a huge fan of Sherman, but he can obviously play..if his knee is good ( and he and Crabtree can squash the old beef, Lol) it might make sense to pursue. May or may not be a small upgrade over Sean Smith at this stage, who was solid after early his struggles last year, but we'll see..RAIDERS may not wanna add too much " Seattle swag " w/Beast Mode already looking to join and we know Beast Mode can be a fool. But even a small upgrade could go a long way too since the Saints pretty much sent the ultimate slot receiver to the Patriots earlier this off-season. Smh It's a strong RAIDER locker room, though, and there is no better fit for Sherman in terms of scheme fit since the RAIDERS play a lot of Cover 3 shell/Cover 4 quarters. Norton is there and gang of other former players on the RAIDER coaching staff so Sherman would have to pick his battles wisely..Jack won't be taking much shit if any at all, for one, and Rod Woodson is Rod Woodson. We'll see. LAD opening day checked off..next big date is April 27th/NFL draft in Philly..Goodell is gonna get booed like never before.
Tony Romo retiring Makes sense, going into broadcasting and he's pretty damn good @ golf too..could be doing better shit than continuing to get hurt on the football field
Charlie Campbell@DraftCampbell 1h1 hour ago Picking in front of Houston, the #Raiders & #Giants benefit from Romo retirement. Oak & NYG could move down with teams wanting to jump Hou.
Uh oh..RAIDERS going into Beast Mode [ no homo] http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/04/05/marshawn-lynch-visits-the-raiders-facility/ In another sign that Marshawn Lynch is poised to come out of retirement to play for his home town team, Lynch is at the Raiders’ facility in Oakland today. Former Colts punter Pat McAfee reports in his new position as a Barstool Sports contributor that Lynch is at the facility talking to team officials. Bob Carr@BobCarrNFL 1h1 hour ago If the #Raiders can sign @MoneyLynch it fills a need at RB and helps soothe the sting felt by local fans with Vegas move #RaiderNation hiSEAN808@Oahu_Raider808 1h1 hour ago "I'm not giving Mark Davis a penny!" *Marshawn Lynch signs with OAKLAND Raiders* "... Uhhh, I meant after they leave, yeah, later on." Crafty stuff. All defense in the draft..Super Bowl or bust.
Nice to see the Kings send off Bob Miller in style in his final home game. What a class act. Highlight of an otherwise cluster fuck of a year. Suggestion for next year...........score some fucking goals.
One helleva void in our sporting lives. For us oldies, Chick and Vin were the only voices we knew. No adequately replacing those two, although I wish the Lakers could have kept Spero Dedes around. Really like him (slight homo).
