Now I see. Donnie Dum fuck gave the shit lineup to Grainkey with a guy they usually own pitching for the Crocks. Never going to win the whole thing with an idiot running the team. Santos is a situational pitcher as is Taco. Jesus Christ. Grady Little knows that.
win today, get the split, and on to the next one. i don't know why people act like Mattingly didn't say before the season that he was gonna find more opportunities to sit AGon this year. get over it. we're up 4.5 games.
I know he was injured and all, and it's been a long road...but his skills have eroded to an alarming degree, offensively and defensively.
Yeah, honestly think his time as a useful MLB player are gone. Got pretty lucky he gave the Dodgers any years as a good catcher considering he wasn't really thought of as an MLB catcher but yup, hopefully the games he starts don't kill us cause it's pretty bad
i'm totally down with giving adrian proper rest he's needs it and will be better for it over the long haul i just question the timing of it; sitting him against a guy he's hit extremely well -- .370/.455/.696 with 3hr/14rbi [in 46 at bats] why not rest him against someone he has problems with or at least less success? especially with an off day on monday that said, you're right... let's win today and move on
Split isn't ideal against a team that was reeling, but we still have a solid cushion in the division so it hurts a little less.
if i told you that the goal was to make sure AGon got a day off during this series..do you want him sitting with Greinke on the hill or sitting out the Bolsinger game? i mean how many starters are you gonna find that own Adrian Gonzalez? i see no problem with feeling like Greinke can handle his business.
If you look at the entire context of things. How Adrian mashes De La Rosa, and Mattingly giving 3 other starters days off the same day. And the other Dodgers in that lineup's lack of success vs De La Rosa, Yes, I'd rather Gonzalez be given today off rather than yesterday.
totally hear what you're saying i'd sit him out against the guy he had the most trouble against somewhat small sample size against the rox other three starters but i [personally] wouldn't have rested him against de la rosa regardless of who we have pitching and like chief said, i'm against resting multiple starters in the same game unless absolutely necessary mattingly has a hard-on for righty/lefty matchups but sometimes misses what's right in front of him... each lefty that he replaced had better numbers against de la rosa than the righty he replaced them with [except guerrero] not saying there's a perfect answer, i just don't like sitting agon in a game that could make the difference in using winning two-of-three as opposed to losing two-of-three
For the record, I've been opposed to Mattingly's scrub LHP lineups since day 1. Can't wait until he uses it again against Bumgarner on Thursday.
Omg, am I tripping, or did that sound like Eric Smith on the PA system again? I'll be elated if it is!
