Sorta moot point how much Kemp would get on the open market the reality is he is going to get what is it 107 with most if not all of it being paid by us. Makes you think everyone would be pulling for us to get our moneys worth.
correct... but as you said, the right return... To me, the most best player to trade right now is Dee... his real self is nothing like his first half (just look at his second half), his OBP is still too low (.326 full year, .300 second half), his defense is decent at 2B but I'm sure someone will value those SBs a lot more that they should... trade him, get some value and play Guerrero at 2B
TODAY, 12:05pm: The sides are still working hard on a deal and have made progress, tweets Rosenthal. Los Angeles is looking for another quality piece in addition to Grandal, with strong pitching prospect Matt Wisler being a “possibility,” per Rosenthal. If that's the case, I'll just puke... So frustrating...
Trading kemp for a package centered around grandal is stupid. Matt must have pissed in someone's cherrios. Holy cow
Kemp coming off 2 major injuries in recent years with terrible defense is not getting $100M nowadays, I hate to break it to you, but not a chance on Earth he would get his contract again.
Hanley has played in fewer games than Kemp the last two years. He is worse defensively, hell, I don't even know if he'll be able to play the OF, and he just got 4/88, 5/110. They are the same age as well. Kemp would get a large contract if he was a FA
Kemp would get big money. Someone would pay up, there's always one team that does. His contract isn't as terrible as it seemed at the beginning of the year. Would've rather seen Hanley stay, but it's going to be interesting seeing him play LF in Boston. Good luck with that lol.
