We've got a shitty lineup, no amount of juggling it is going to make things better. Gotta deal with it in the meantime.
Abreu has been nails. I hope he doesn't wear down physically. So pro. If Rivera wasn't such a dud we'd be looking at simulating some major production. Imagine a Willingham type platooning with Bobby (and Loney).
You still have to try and get the most out of the players you put out there. he said he expects to win with any lineup he makes...if he don't feel that way, then he should be the fucking bat boy. How do you know a change in the lineup wouldn't help? You can't throw your hands up and say "oh well we suck, so it don't matter who bats where". Creativity is part of being a good manager.
The point is swapping similarly mediocre players like Gwynn or Herrera in the order MIGHT create an absolutely miniscule bump in offense, if any. Moving AJ up would be good but there's other factors for Mattingly in play there as well. Our options aren't good enough for lineup juggling to make a difference.
This has the typical feeling of a Chad start. Balls getting banged all over the yard, struggling to find the zone, we are losing before the chairs are warm. I'm not hating on Bills. It's just every time I turn on the tv set he's in trouble. What gives?
Bills has some filthy pitches, nobody ever bites though. Does he tip his pitches? Are the cameras deceptive?
