Sounds pretty close to what I imagine also.

6/150 with a vesting option for the 7th year

Or maybe someone goes crazy and goes 7 years/160 mil

imo lester's price tag is still more desirable than others with draft picks attached and certainly more desirable than trading our prized prospects for hamels

i don't think the Cubs have a limit..they're in a similar situation to the Dodgers in 2012..tryin to rebuild their image/brand and will do whatever it takes.

i think both David Ross AND Peavy will sign there too as " Lester guys "..sort of a package deal.

once lester signs (wherever) stuff will start happening... quickly
until then, probably a lot of minor/insignificant shit for the most part
just a matter of when he makes up his mind... today, tomorrow, after the meetings... who the fuck knows
and tbh, i highly doubt he comes to LA

edit: i honestly believe he goes back to boston unless someone blows away the competition with something substantial

Yeah, I don't see Lester ending up with us. As long as he doesn't go to the Giants, I won't be too mad.

    • Earlier today, Diamondbacks Chief Baseball Officer Tony La Russa said that contrary to reports, there was no agreed upon deal with the Dodgers that would have sent Miguel Montero to L.A. When asked if a Montero-to-the-Dodgers deal could still happen, La Russa said, “The conversations are not what they were before. I think it’s less likely,” according to Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic (via Twitter). However, La Russa added that ownership has not deemed Montero untouchable (link).
    • Dodgers president Andrew Friedman says that he’ll let the year play out before addressing Zack Greinke‘s opt out clause, according to Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times (on Twitter). From the sound of it, the Dodgers don’t have extension talks with the pitcher on their agenda for this winter.

attaboy. the return we get is far more important than worrying about trading within the division.

and Greinke's ass is gone if he opts out. take it to the bank. Greinke tryin to get big money in his age 36 and age 37 seasons..likely not happenin with us.

Johnny Cueto and David Price will get 6yr deals next year that'll run them to their age 35 seasons..realistic targets if Greinke opts out and they fail to get a young stud starter for Kemp.

We should be going after Cueto and Price regardless of whether or not Grienke walks.

I recall Grainkey beating the Cardinals until the bullpen (Howell) imploded but they still won that game.

Don't underestimate yourself Zack. You're better than Kershaw...................in the post season.

    friedman on ethier...

Andrew Friedman, the Dodgers president of operations, said he understands why Andre Ethier would want to be traded if he isn’t starting.

“I get it,” Friedman said. “I think all guys that play this game want to play as much as they possibility can. I get it. I totally get it from his perspective. People praised the way he handled the situation last year, and we felt like it was important for him to say how he felt right now,” Friedman said. “We welcome that.”

Friedman said Ethier’s remarks didn’t make him any more inclined to move the two-time All-Star.

“No,” Friedman said. “I get where he’s coming from. I’d feel the same way if I were him.”

David Robertson to Chicago, 4 years 46 million.

White Sox that is. They're putting together a solid off-season to be capped off with Samardzija tomorrow.

If he does indeed have a 7 year offer, I would be stunned if it was from the Dodgers. Got to believe that came from either Chicago or SF or maybe both.
