Jon Heyman @JonHeymanCBS 21s #mariners, #rangers, #dodgers are at this point the 3 most serious suitors for david price. Have the interest and players. 12:56 PM - 9 Dec 13 · Details
I like that Ned is playing some hardball with Uribe and saying we have other options, but I just don't know what those other options realistically are.
I can't even think of realistic trade options we could do. Through free agency, maybe a platoon of Mark Ellis/Eric Chavez could work... But idk.
i believe they'd move Hanley to 3B. that's just me. Ned said " not right now "...to me that means " well, we're talking to Uribe for now, but things could change " Seattle remains our best match for a trade of one of our outfielders because of their need for one or two of them. and they have 2 SS that are young...and we wanna get younger. i'm just sayin you can kinda connect the dots there.
What about saying the ultimate "fuck you" to defense and going after Trumbo for third. I wouldn't but maybe.
MLB Winter Meetings @WinterMeeting 35s Rangers Dodgers and Mariners are the teams that seem to be in on David Price. #WinterMeetings #MLB 1:11 PM - 9 Dec 13 · Details
Dodgers Nation @DodgersNation 1m 3B Free agent market is very thin. Colletti acknowledges it'd be more realistic to acquire one via trade. http://bit.ly/19cZq7S 1:12 PM - 9 Dec 13 · Details
we match up best with the Rays, IMO. a lot of our positions are locked in. you could've argued that the Rangers were better suited before the Kinsler trade because they had Profar to offer, but now Profar is gonna play. and Seattle is pretty good pitching wise...i mean why deal Walkers when they control him and he's close...Price could walk soon and then what? just seems to me that the Rays are building a market, but if i'm LAD management i'm sitting and looking going " we have the prospects and our position players are locked in ". Seattle moreso needs to be looking for outfield help. this is probably the best time for LAD to strike on Price...while Seattle and Texas are looking to add to their lineups.
The 4 OF situation needs to clear up before anything else, I'd think. We don't know our payroll limits or our assets available via trade until it's settled. Using what we get for Kemp/Ethier to go after someone like Franklin/Kendrick/Middlebrooks/Headley seems smart IMO.
who though? the market is so thin that it makes you wonder why anybody would wanna give us their 3B and then go on the market and look for one. i guess we're looking for the team that has a 3B prospect close to making the jump, but who could that be? i hope we don't Headley and have to deal with his contract stuff in the near future. he's gonna want a David Wright deal and he's not worth it.
Seattle actually wants Kemp though. they want big boppers that can play right now. they'd probably even take Ethier. they need protection for Cano more than anything else. to me, because we've yet to have the problem of having 4 outfielders hurt us during the season, and because 2 of them are brittle and the other - violent - i think we can sit on 4 outfielders until the right deal comes.
lol it's gettin too crazy. too many possibilities for a team that was 2 wins away from the WS and it's only Day 1
even a Tampa Times guy thinks Walker is a long shot to go to Tampa. it doesn't make sense to me either. i don't think the Rangers or Mariners are better fits as a trade partner
The idea of trading for prospects was also mentioned as trading an outfielder doesn’t need to net the Dodgers big league players. Nods towards what I was saying in another convo about Dodgers trading for the future rather than the present.
