Los Angeles Dodgers at St. Louis Cardinals Game Thread (August 5 - 8)

Sorry I haven't been here to see these guys continue to roll as it's been busy as fuck at Tampa International Airport. I also know the cubs aren't the best team but a month ago we might have split that series. 14-2 since the break and 30-7, I believe, in their last 37 games. Both pitching and hitting stats have improved(5th in batting avg and 7th in on base pct, not to mention that runs scored have taken a huge turn around. Pitching is 5th in team ERA, and 9th in batting avg allowed, and again these are much better numbers than a month ago.But the thing that we don't see on a stat sheet is the team is finding ways to win, as today vs the cubs a 1-0 win on 2 hits......can't remember the last time that happened by this team and they continue to step up....someone different almost every game........Now that's a team thing, something that was missing for most of the 1st half. It's enough to put a tear in your eye, make your nipples hard....WHATEVER....I should be able to see some of this series vs the cards, who have been a thorn in this teams side for a long fracking time, and the Rays who I hope they whoop their ass. I did get to see 2 of the games vs the gnats,,,,,(fri, sat)....and sat behind their bench for both games......it was nice......Go Beautimus Blue!

 

I'd be more optimistic if Hanley and Puig weren't injured right now. Those 2 being injured, playing or not, is horrible.

 

Yes we are fucked. I'm getting ready to hook up my digital over the air box and antenna for the free signal. I'm not sure it will work in my house because I only have an indoor antenna that sucked in my garage. I might have to hang it out of the window or some shit.

 

I feel a hell of a lot more confident that Puig will play 2-3 games in this series than Ramirez, but we'll see. I'll be ecstatic if they can split these 4.

Well, they are but this one is CBS' fault IMO. They want way to much and TWC will raise our rates(which are too high already) to accommodate them or hold out until they lower their cost.

We most likely split but 3/4 is possible. The bats really need to show up though as the Cards have been on fire lately even without Molina!

Wouldn't be too upset at a split considering how good this team is but imagine how much noise would be made if we take 3 out of 4 against these guys!!!! geez i remember earlier in the season when we were all praying to get a 2 or 3 game winning streak going....Man oh man have times changed!!!! I honestly can not remember such a huge turnaround by any team in any sport like we have had in quite some time!!! DODGERS BASEBALL BABY!!!!!

 

A bit worried about Puig and Hanley. Two hot bats gone. Skip Schumaker will be the dark horse this series, have a feeling he will go nuts on his old team for some reason.

I would be happy with two wins.
