Is the reason Braun won is because he is a SABR MVP?
Matt's RBI's and HRs reek of tradition...and another candidate for the award batted behind Braun isn't a consideration? Doesn't seem right to me...I think Matt got fucked big time; Braun was great--Kemp was better IMO.
Braun is a Milwaukee Brewer- Kemp a Dodger. Fuck the good sportsmanship and maturity. I have nothing against Braun...but he should go fuck himself. Just because.

No, Kemp had better "SABR" numbers too, he won because voters value making the playoffs, which I disagree with, but that's like, there opinion man.

A dollar for whoever names that movie!

    kemp is SABR MVP

braun won because they made the playoffs, which is dumb
look at their teammates. no shit they make the playoffs and kemp didnt. that was pretty much predetermined prior to opening day

^ I agree. Kemp got screwed. Unfortunatley until the criteria of MVP is changed, it will always be this way. Hopfully it fuels Kemp to exceed this years numbers next year and that propels the Dodgers into the playoffs.

Can we please discuss the fact that Roy Halladay got an MVP vote, but Kershaw didn't. Something doesn't add up here...

with our dodger luck, kemp will put up a great season next year. idk how great, just a really good year ok? and the dodgers make the playoffs

some other player will have a slightly better year but miss the playoffs

and instead of kemp winning MVP, he'll come in 2nd lol

^ I don't have a problem with factoring in "wins" with the MVP vote. When ARod won with the Rangers, they were a last place team. How valuable was he, really? They'd have finished last with or without him.

BUT "playoffs" is no good. Up until now there are only 8 teams that make the playoffs total out of a bunch that contend. Putting an emphasis on "playoffs" isn't fair. But factoring in "wins"/"competitiveness" overall is not a bad thing.

And, again IMO, this is why it's worse that neither Bautista nor Kemp won their respective MVP awards. Dodgers won 82 games with Kemp. On a shit team they played above .500 and were competitive against better teams. No way are they above .500, let alone competitive, without Kemp. Without Braun the Brewers might very well still have been a playoff team. At worst they still would have been good and competitive.

i have a problem with the "they're last with him, they'd be last without him" argument
people said it with kemp this year. "dodgers suck with him, they'd suck without him"

no duh. take out any top player and the team takes a hit. this isnt basketball
imo people should go with the swap argument

swap kemp with braun or upton. standings dont change at all
comes back to what you said about playoffs. better teammates

it's like people forget star batters can only hit 4 or 5 times a game. they can only do so much

that said, i wish braun didnt have as good as a season. kemp would have won if it wasnt so close
    oh well. maybe next year

I don't blame the writers, Kemp, Braun, God, the Man, etc.

I have two people to blame...these two are the reason Kemp was on a crappy team and was unable to win MVP.

These two people I blame are named Frank McCourt & Ned Colletti. There's no way the Brewers should have a better team on the field than the Los Angeles Dodgers. To me, it's that simple. McCourt and Ned are to blame.

Honorable mention would go to a few underachievers that play for the Dodgers. My list would include Ethier, Uribe, and Loney. Key players that completely sucked for most of the year and allowed us to slip from contention fairly early.

I disagree. Number 1, Dodgers didn't suck. They won 82 games. They were over .500 and by Sports definition that makes them a competitive team. Last place, on a team that only won 50 some odd games, and still winning an MVP is a travesty.

like i said earlier, Braun had a great season and does deserve to be MVP (just like Kemp), but 20-10 is stupid. should have been much closer IMHO.

Braun doesn't get anything but 1st and 2nd votes, yet Kemp gets 6 3rd place votes?

You people who think Braun deserved this are a fucking joke. Kemp had a historically amazing season, on a team that did nothing for him.

This vote is ABSOLUTELY biased and a total farce and sham.

I bet on some martian planet somewhere where they have 9 fingers instead of 10, Kemp would win MVP because he went 39/40

This is an insane look at the whole thing....and he has the same name as the guy who created and developed the V-2 rocket. And our missile/space program.

Oh and that chart just goes to show you that it wasn't close at all...IMO. It was a fucking blowout. A guy has the season Matt did and gets blown away by Braun????? Double the first place votes and people are OK with that?
Maybe this place should disappear forever.
