Yessir, that's it. There are definitely a lot of guys that come out of the valley where I'm from. I really only know a few guys though, mainly through travel ball and stuff like that. The only guy I actually talk to regularly is Songco. Still crazy seeing all these guys I played with/against actually playing in the MLB.
Brutal. Nick Punto can't carry this team forever. Game changed on that Fowler catch though. Wish we had a defensive CF as good as that... An offensive one as good as that would help too.
Wow, that must have been some buzz. Russ has one good week in 6 years and you talk about how he would have carried us?
Kemp's ABs have turn into a replay time after time... first pitch down the middle he lets pass for strike, second pitch offspeed he swings and misses, third pitch ball he lets go, forth pitch breaking ball down and out he chases for the K... sometimes the 3rd pitch gets skipped...
Good post...Matt has gone (or quickly headed to) going from frustrating to watch, to flat out pathetic. The clean up guy... My son, who had the same injury as he did, said that it just doesn't come back and heal like it was previously right away, maybe never...so have patience; but swinging at pitches that are balls that never reach the plate is just wrong. And lately, in CF, Matt Kemp has looked very Matt Holiday out there...don't want to say too much, because it seems he's being picked on. But damn, he's the "franchise" and all, and he appears to be in an overall shutdown or at least in a retro-grade mode. .255/.260 with 1 HR and 11RBIs just ain't gettin' it done. Colorado looks , right now, so much better tha us. The BAs up and down the lineup, leaves us in the dust. I'd say OK, we have the pitching, so it's a horse race. But we don't. I truly do not believe that guys like Beckett and Lilly are going to sustain us for 2013. The BP is less than what I thought we'd have. Mr. Micro-manager gets hurt every time he morphs into his multi-moves mode... meh, Mattingly.
YEAH...way tired of it. Sometimes Vinny is like the Chinese water torture. Worse for me, is the "Cargo" BJ he gives the guy at every fucking AB With the expectations at the highest and the frustrating disappointments of this season so far, I just have to turn the volume down when this fuckwad comes up to the plate. I can't take it any more. It's like you can feel him rooting for the guy to smack in a couple of RBIs with RISP.
great post bz... ^glad i'm not the only one who feels this way one thing to compensate for the injury and alter your swing but there is no injury below the neck that should affect plate discipline/selection i'd be less concerned about his absence of power if he were driving the ball and having good ab's -- but that simply isn't the case reading 4ever's "kemp becoming predictable" post, i was about to laugh... until i realized how spot on he was and, sorry to say, no matter how many other starts we supposedly have in the lineup... as kemp goes, so go the dodgers they are better no doubt about it more disciplined and much more confident other than hairston, the ellis bros, and a couple others... no one seems willing to work the count to try and get "their" pitch instead guys like cruz swing at whatever the pitcher throws up there do any of the players listen to what mcgwire is preaching and, if not, why isn't mattingly on them?!!! had cautious optimism for beckett but not lilly capuano (when he recovers) may be a better alternative to these guys -- how sad is that? fife is fucken garbage don't know a lot about magill but didn't his first performance warrant a 2nd shot? he's becoming a fucken idiot 7 pitchers yesterday most frustrating was the 7th... paco k's cargo after k'ing fowler the inning before but dbb, in his infinite wisdom, decides to go with the torre-esque righty/righty matchup by bringing in kenley to face tulo and cuddyer hey how'd that work out donnie? talk about over-reacting to a situation fucken pathetic
We have yet to see CC in the lineup at the same time Hanley is in. And Mark. The lineup might have a chance to gel when we get them all in there. :fingerscrossed:
Only thing I'm worried about is the starting pitching. Aside from Kershaw, Ryu has done great, but I don't know how long that will last. Beckett/Lily/Cap when he comes back are untrustworthy (although I trust Cap just a bit more) and Magill had a nice start, but again, who knows if and when he gets the ball he'll keep us in games or start floundering.
Kemp and Ethier should move down another slot when Crawford returns. CC MEllis/Hairston/Shumaker(whoever is available) HanRam AGon Kemp Ethier AJEllis Uribe Pitcher
But they should drop Kemp in the lineup....let him work it out down in the order for a bit. He's coming up a lot with men on base, and just not doing it. Let's face it man, he's killing us. We can't depend on CK-like games from everyone else, even CK some times...we need some crooked numbers up there to compete in the NLW. Right now anyway...it could change. But we've gotta score some damn runs. If kemp is gonna fail, then try a different recipe, Donnie. Baseball. Kemp can always go back up to the cleanup spot or wherever. No one fears him anymore...Mattingly has to be a manager now, for the good of the team. Not worry about feelings or whatever. That's what he gets paid for. It might be the best thing for Matt. IDK about Ethier at all. I see a guy who is mostly doing some kind of pirouette or dance step after swinging and missing. I have no idea what is going on with some of them. The way Uribe swings and his plate "discipline"---I think the guy is as crazy as a shithouse rat. Muy loco...
