i don't think the team can force him to do it but i'm sure they would have preferred the 9-12 month recovery to have started last year. great slide by kemp
first off, why would it matter? 90% of that recovery time is 2013 and the off-season following. second, we don't even now at this time if his injury is related to this. third, we got a couple starts out of him this season...so we'll lose a couple next season maybe. does it really matter? It was a gamble for the best and the worst case isn't any lose other than a couple starts maybe in 2014. Again, he may be back in 15 days and finish this season out just fine.
Good to see our offense do some of the right things finally. I'm still mystified by the lack of HR power this team displays.
Oh...well not getting the contract part. We weren't trying to trade Harang/Caps/Lilly for probably 4 months now? It's unforeseen shit like Greinke and Cap's injury that caused this big pitching problem. This couldn'tr reasonably have been avoided. we are in better shape than any team in baseball would be losing 3 starters in 10 days.
You would have not of liked the Oriole announcers. They are true homers and the one guy is clueless about Kemp. He kept calling him Shawn Kemp yesterday and the other guy kept correcting him and today even in the post game show he kept calling him Steve Kemp and the other guy never tried correcting him. The best thing he could say about Kemp is that he is struggling and got a couple of broken bat hits today.
Ok and Hernandez can't hit hermaphrodites. So like I said you take Skip out against the lefty early in the game and you get a Hernandez K against the lefty and he gets to face a righty next time up.
