Yeah, although Prince might deny it. But of course if he denies it it'd probably be cause he'd say he'd wish the Dodgers would have bid Maybe it is real, fuck. But i'm just gonna tell myself it was a PR move and that next year we're gonna get some quality players and send away all the shit Ned left us with
if it wasn't just a pr move then i praise frank and ned for at least trying $26MM/4 years is a legitimate offer and i'm sure prince considered taking it but $214MM/9 years from the tigers (or anyone for that matter) is just too much to refuse
I think it was real. Nice idea, even tim brown reported it. Gotta give props to boras . We almost got a bargain and instead he raped he tigers wallets . Next off-season we can splurge on hamels and votto
agreed knowing he had the dodgers offer in his back pocket if nothing else arose and had victor martinez not gone down, who knows?
Votto isn't a FA until after the 2013 season. The Rangers are keeping Hamilton without prince, and there isn't much else offensively out there. Not that Hitters won't become availalbe via trade, but not getting fielder at 26 per for 4 years because the tiger catcher got injured is heart breaking. I hope prince sucks. Would make me feel better.
We made a nice offer, Tigers beat it, can't bash that. I can, however, bash the fact that the best FA pitcher who signed for well below market value said he would have rather been a Dodger.
Fuck the Tigers. No logical thinking from that franchise. "Let's go out and sign Fielder because our catcher/dh got hurt for the season." Fuck them.
cool. maybe boras used us to hike the price, but it means we should be able to spend next year like it's been assumed. nice @DKnobler: Tigers were well aware of Dodgers' interest in Fielder, considered Dodgers their main competition for him.
Not necessarily, the 2010 team pretty much blew and drew over 3 mill. I think a large contingent of people like me will comeback. By that I mean those that decided to avoid games entirely.
