Meh. FUCKTARDS wouldn't have signed him anyway. They'dve opted for a burned out lounge lizard, throat cancer survivor with a lisp who at one time was a semi finalist on Star Search.

I feel like Dodger baseball is dying.
I didn't feel that way last season, or any season prior.

    Vin being gone is huge.

Adrian is done. And although his tenure was short, he was the 1Bman during the rebirth of the Dodgers post Mccourt. I'll never forget his contributions 2013-2015. He served his purpose. Love him. But he's done.

    Puig isn't good anymore.

Ethier is probably still useful in some capacity, but is no longer a guy you pencil in on a napkin lineup. He too will be gone soon. Longest tenured Dodger.

There's a change in season coming for the blue.

Kazmir and Mccarthy are both on multi year deals. And I truly believe they are both damaged beyond repair.

Urias isn't ready to throw 200 innings.

It's Kershaw and then 4 spots to fill as far as I'm concerned.

Next year could be the year we just take a step back.

How far off are Verdugo, Bellinger, Calhoun, etc? And how are their splits (no homo)?

I think we have to take multiple steps back. I don't think the FO is ready to be the highest payroll in baseball indefinitely, which means no big FA signings that raise the payroll. We already saw signs of that last off season when we did not get any of the FA pitchers available including our own Greinke.

Regardless of the results of those moves in hindsight, it's just an indication of the future.

What I think the FO will do is rely on the youth "getting mature". That means hoping Urias pans out, DeLeon pans out, Joc get's right and Seager leans how to hit under pressure.

It means waiting on Cody Bellinger. Hoping Barnes can take over as catcher....etc, etc.

They want homegrown talent on the cheap.

So I dont expect this team to improve on this season no matter what they say. There are so many holes to fill, and the FO is not going to spend the money to fill those holes.

Sorry if I Debbie Downer, but I just see this as our future.

And if none of the prospects pans out....it will be a prolonged future or mediocre results.

I was hopeful, but not surprised. We barely got by the Nats and the cubs were a lot better.

Maybe just maybe being this close will keep these guys extra motivated and allow them to play with passion and fire each game.

We won game 3 and this team then just shit the bed. The cubs played desperate in the final 3 games while we just waited for the inevitable. Maybe just maybe next year we will have that mojo.

Now I'm gonna go cry and get ready and pray the lakers are good enough to compete for an 8th seed.

Tough times in la sports right now.

all in all to get to this point considering the circumstances of the season is a win. But nonetheless to lose when you're up 2-1 is frustrating as fuck. But we have a lot of holes in this team and they need to be addressed. We are a better team than we showed in this series. Fucking sucks but it is what it is

I mean is it even worth piling on Kersh when the offense gets 2 hits in an elimination game? Like I said, I know the pitching in October is good, but other teams find a way to overcome it. These fucks get shut down every year.

Offense sucks, Kershaw sucks, don't see a point to not criticize both.

    not piling on kersh
but he put us in a hole from the start
    the offense sucked ass
but expecting them to throw up 6 against a guy like hendricks is asking a lot imo

    edit:
we're all a bit upset right now
    and rightfully so
but in all honesty this team overachieved and probably shouldn't have gotten past the nats
but that gave us false hope against the cubs
even more so when we took a brief 2-1 lead in the series
but once the cubs woke up they outscored us 23-6 the last three games
they're just better than us in every area
no shame is losing to the better team
would have liked to have at least gone down fighting
but at the end of the day a loss is a loss

I didn't post during the game cuz it hurt so much. Fuck me for predicting lose in 6 (even though it was random as hell).

Astutely put. This group as currently put together, got about as far as it could.

Not sure what was more frustrating, watching the best pitcher on the planet struggle or watching our hitters fail to generate one fucking rally the entire game.

As bad a signing as there was in MLB last off-season, so I'd hope not

He is missing a fuck ING offense to do there part so Kershaw can do his when he is not perfect. Easier mentally to pitch with a lead .

Yeah..the offense is not really was someting to be reckoned with at all...absent without leave .Throw the mofos in the brig. Wonder what happened to the fabled resiliency?
But the fact that they were a bunch of fightless, no scoring losers, and gave no chance for the team to win...none at all again, has nothing to do with Kershaw's performance. Doesn't change a thing about him.
It was Kershaw's biggest game of his career, and he simply was terrible. Not mediocre, terrible.
That's not going to change, ever. Because has enjoys schedule greatness, is a fine man, and we all love him, makes that harder to accept. But doesn't alter what we've seen many times now. It is what it is.
Just move on...it's another year as losers, another year where the lineup sucked, and another time when Kershaw failed dismally in the post season, and another year where the gaping holes left on the roster killed us eventually. Getting used to failure is now commonplace for LAD fans. But some will use the Cubs actually. Perhaps not realizing that will require 7 more decades...the majority of us won't be here to even see it.
That's our place in baseball history these days, and to pretend it isn't, is mere folly.
Trying to make anything else of it is a bit pathetic.

not sure if anyone said this but honestly looking back at the season there are some positives to be taken away
i have a lot of confidence in DR and watching his postgame this morning only increased it
our team never quit even w all the injuries we had and got 2 games from the series
that cub team is pretty fucking good and with a little luck and a hit here and there its all different
i hate that we lost and wish like hell things ended up different
the FO needs to address the flaws and get us some talent as well as sign kenley and justin imo
wanted to win but i don't hate anything about this season save that last game and the approach of being defeated from the start
and i agree on the expectations although the first few innings i was pretty mad
Ck is going to leave i get the feeling so i hope if we can't get him to sign we can get something good for him before he goes

Yeah...for those of us of the aged persuasion, we haven't watched a World Series we wanted to, since 1988.
Sounds like a cruel joke in some ways, considering the players that have come down our pike since then...
