Odd that the modern "mistake" then is far superior and more useful didactically than the old one. A much simpler and more focused way to get to basically the same end.
    Ironic, eh?

I like how Kershaw is at the same time an unclutch loser and at the same time underrated/disrespected by ESPN and the national media and at the same time have the dodgers be wasting his prime?
Some of you guys spin around more than a teenage girl trying to decide which dress to wear to the prom
If the org is wasting his 'prime' but he is a 'choker' then how is he 'underrated'?
None of those 3 things go with each other, yet they can be said by the same guys during the same 24 hour period.

    Kershaw is still the man.
And i would want him as my pitcher in any one game.

Kershaw is great, but everything else is right on the money.
    RBI's matter.
    AVG matter.

The best comment about a total fail by a player who did it, imo, was by Joe Namath, who was asked, " what happened, Joe"?
And he answered " I stink".
I hope Clayton says something like that, and that will be that.
    Move on from there.

everything gets simplified over time, doesnt mean its better
origins matter, specially with masses that are blind
a politician in india used the proverb and it caused a shitstorm because of the modern interpretation
and he couldnt defend himself because he too did not know the original meaning
when india was touted as making economic gains he tried to imply that the gains dont really mean much being that they only look good in comparison to how bad the neighboring countries have been during the same period - which was true, but he used this proverb which doesnt apply
the meaning was lost on people, and his rivals made it out that he was belittling india by saying it was 'one eyed'.
because the most blind take things way too literally and cannot understand that all language is code, literally

Agree....wins, especially in must win situations, matter. So far Kershaw has 1 this post season. None in any of his previous outtings.

Again, I got raked over the coals for saying this, but would you rather have Kershaw or MadBum given their records over an entire season, including the post-season?

Kershaw, as good as he is, is missing something when the games really count.

Hitting, hitting, hitting. One common theme each postseason is the Dodgers offense disappearing and not having enough consistent options. Once Seager and Turner stop hitting, you can forget about us scoring. Since 2013, it's been the same thing. Yeah, pitching lets us down at times in key spots but the offense is dreadful every postseason.

Looking forward to the many off-season outlooks. HAVE to negotiate with the Red Dream ASAP, I think he'll be willing to give a home town discount within reason, but Kenley on the other hand is going FA.

Turner, Kenley, Braun, Greinke and Hill. But they won't do it. They'll buy low on a SP who threw 75 innings.
