Anything less than a sweep will be a disappointment. When the team wins like this it only makes my expectations skyrocket.
D'Backs Designate Cody Ransom For AssignmentBy Ben Nicholson-Smith [May 21 at 4:25pm CST]The Diamondbacks announced that they designated infielder Cody Ransom for assignment (Twitter link). The team will recall infielder Josh Bell from Triple-A Reno in a corresponding move.

Is he going to platoon Sellers and Dee then? Dee didn't sit against lefties in the beginning of the year, so it does mark a change.
I figured but too lazy to look but being a youngster you would think they would want to get him to improve vs them instead already platooning him. Unless they are thinking why mess with a winning formula now.
No no good catch just wondering why THIS lefty, no disrespect to the guy but really? At least I hope Dee takes this as a challenge and not just write it off as oh I'm not in because he is a lefty.
Mattingly said on Saturday that dee would get some days on the bench and work on stuff. He probably won't start until friday
Josh Bell starting tonight for the Dbacks he better suck >.< I bet we would have claimed him too if the DBacks weren't ahead of us on the claiming list
They had Dee hitting off a tee. He's taking remedial courses on hitting as of now getting back to the basics
that may be part of it plus sellers, despite his shortcomings, plays the game the right way btw, great/disciplined AB by Dee yesterday
Not to be flippant or a wise guy (far be it from me), but what do you work on while on the bench? Carving your intials in the wood? it's the advent of Herrera, as previously mentioned about him starting instead of almost the nil production of Gordon. AND, Justin Sellers is just as productive as Dee in his own way...true, he doesn't hit much, but he surely hits as much as Dee does. And his defense is superior on an overall basis. Plain and simple, we have viable alternatives to Dee Gordon at his present stage of developement. Right now anyway...why put the dead spot back? Nothing mystical or psychological here...these guys are as good as he is. Troof.
To me the most interesting thing about tonight's lineup is Van Slyke playing 1B and hitting clean up. This followed by Herrera playing 3B.
