Tis true. We missed the hell out of 2013 Withrow and 2013 Paco last post season. I'm not gonna go as far as agreeing with you on Jim Johnson because his flameout with the Orioles is too fresh on my mind ( and I know a bunch of O's fans personally ), but from their perspective I guess why not take a shot? Brad Lidge once flamed out with Houston and then won a title with Philly as their guy. I suppose it could happen again, but I do not like Johnson. I guess that's another one that I disagreed with, outside of not signing Andrew Miller. But yeah, the young guys have flashed this year...Yimi, Liberatore ( not really our guy, but Friedman's), etc.
I'm giving Hatcher a clean slate. He's got the downward plane working now with what Orel said were new mechanics and he was good yesterday.
I think the fact that you're all talking about everything EXCEPT Chase Utley, nobody is very optimistic about what he has left in the tank.
I think you've gotten lost in all the bullpen talk that's taken over. The thread is just slowly morphing into a place to gripe about the bullpen and the front office.
I like Utley on this team because Utley = no callaspo and more PA for kike vs lefties. Also, the dude has been raking, albeit in a short sample size.
From the Dodgers’ perspective, says GM Farhan Zaidi, the club has high expectations for Utley’s bat, as J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles News Group reports. “When he’s healthy, he’s still one of the best hitters in the game,” said Zaidi. Utley is expected to see regular action at second until Howie Kendrick returns from the DL, and could shift around the infield thereafter. Many have wondered why Los Angeles went after a hitter when the team’s bullpen has struggled so much of late, but Zaidi indicated that adding Utley did not preclude other moves, as Mark Saxon of ESPNLosAngeles.com reports on Twitter. Indeed, the club could still add a relief arm, according to the GM. “I don’t feel like [the Utley trade] depletes our trade capital … in any real way,” he added.
In all honesty I don't really give a shit who they trade for or don't trade for anymore. I just wanna see this team win!
great move pluses everywhere get a veteran hot hitting infielder former super star who is ok with being a role player if needed upgrade our IF hitting corps to rotate around and provide excellent depth add more veteran leadership and chemistry to the team dump a non hitting callaspo and only lose a couple of non prospects win win win
