    I'm not feeling great about tonight's game. Here's why:

    1. Dodgers top hitters haven't fared well against Montgomery. Betts (2 for 14), Freeman (1 for 9), Muncy (0 for 5) and Teoscar (2 for 21) have all struggled. Ohtani and Smith have done better, but in limited ABs. Outman is 2 for 3 against him, but since Montgomery is a LHP, either Kike (2 for 11) or Kaylor (0 for 5) will undoubtedly get the start.
    2. Knack is due for a bad game. Hopefully I'm wrong about this, but just a feeling that the Arizona offense will get scrappy against him.

    Called it. ctSTRIKE3 is in the lineup against the lefty Montgomery despite being 0 for 5 against him while Outman is 2 for 3. Because Scarecrow.

    And just to be clear, I realize that 3 ABs for Outman and 5 for Taylor are too small a sample size to come to any conclusion, but if not now, at what point will Outman get a real chance to improve against lefties? Or has Roberts determined that he will always be platooned, despite how bad the other player in the platoon is?

    All due respect, brohim ... but aren't three of four of those small samples? Teoscar is a proper sample...

    Anyway ... you're probably right. Roberts couldn't get laid in a Subic Bay cathouse ... he'll fuck it up.

    I've been trying to think of who Dave Roberts reminds me of, and it finally came to me, quite by accident.
    Now I know this is before everyone else's time, but not mine.
    Soupy Sales, especially since Dave's been aging quite a bit.
    Now Soupy was Jewish, so no brown skin or epicanthic folds...but finally it came.
    If you wait long enough, you'll be rewarded. Especially if it involves Davey!
