nice that we are paying someone 700 million to completely forget how to hit whenever there is someone on second or third base.
don't know if I am more annoyed with the idiot manager or these bums being completley fucking uselss with RISP yet again. fuck you Shohei you stupid fucking bum
Shitty effort tonight. I could feel it all game, the Dodgers had opportunities and they wasted them, letting Arizona stay within striking distance. Ohtani came up empty with runners on in his last three ABs, including in the 10th. It's cool when he gets a hit to start a rally, but it'd be nice if once in a while some of those 700 big ones went to clearing the bases too.
Three runs and they really didn't earn any of them. One on a balk, another on a wild pitch and the third on a extra inning ghost runner. Just a feckless effort. Disgusting watch No-Sho swing from his ass when a single will suffice.
Would have been nice to have the closer available with a one run lead instead of wasting him with a 4 run lead the previous night
bold prediction: taylor goes 3-3 with a 2b and hr more likely: montgomery shuts us down thru six, yamamoto gets shelled, their pen holds us to two singles, vesia alone gives up five runs, and we lose 13-0
paraphrasing vin… “playing like unmotivated, disinterested pussies is unacceptable when your bosses spent all that money. man up and at least act like you give a shyte, you feckin gutless bkitches… especially you 0-ferTani.”
Yeah, the bee thing should've been a big advantage to us. They lost their starter - ours still played and pitched well. We should've hit their BP hard. But this team seems to get complacent when it has too much advantage, and I think that's a mentality that the manager allows to manifest. There's no go-for-the-jugular with this team. And as a result, we lose to inferior teams in the NLDS. This loss reminds me of last October against the same team. I could see it happening again this October.
one day it may sink in to davey and the analytics boys that the game is decided by how many runners actually come across the plate even if they wanted to try a play i don't think they have anything in their arsenal besides launch angles going to take someone defying them and just doing it anyway but again i don't think they even practice or speak of the word bunt
It doesn't even have to be 'small ball" per se. Hit behind a runner. Break for the base on two strikes. Inside-out tough pitches ... you know? Fuckin BASEBALL stuff, man. Run & hit, sacrifice, ball-in-play type stuff. It isn't too hard. It's actually simple, time-tested, and effective. Or not. Screw it, right? When the starting lineup has six mega-millionaires & arguably one billionaire ... win, lose, who cares? Just hammer checks and whatever. ...
All this, yes... but I'd add as long as the turnstiles keep moving, and the ad revenue comes in, and they placate the "wokers," who cares? Unfortunately there are enough fans that are impressed by the big contracts and willing to downplay or overlook the lack of postseason success, so those who should be held accountable (ahem... the manager) are allowed to carry on in their mediocrity.
