So the USA water girls are saving our pompous American asses.

    Uhh I mean "Mericun" asses.

Damned Katy Ledecky is a fish. And only 19. and the others too
but her 800M swim there was almost no one on the same lap!!

OK IMO Phelps wife fiance earns MILF MVP honors so far.
Smoking. And he ends up with dozens and dozens of medals to boot.
    Life of Reilly.

But Insane Dolt is also an unreal human. Unreal.
100M Semi finals and he lets up at 60M and grins looking both ways
    and srill runs a 9.86.
    Loafing
    In his 3rd Olympics
No challenger worthy of making a greater effort.
At least in the final when he got a bad start he had apply himself to chase down Gatlin
    and made it look easy
humanity will never learn if we can run sub 9.58
because when Dolt was able to
he couldn't be bothered to try after 60M

And how about the South African kid Wayde Van Neikirk?
Smashes Michael Johnson's 400M record which stood for 17 years to run 43.03!!

Cool watching the best of the best perform

But I'm also good with once every four years too
especially with the ads, then intro, then ads, then preview, then ads, then ads, then highlights then ads, then in depth personals then more ads, then ads, followed by more ads. Then a 10 second race followed by more ads, then more highlights of we aren't going to bother to show you then more ads, with some ads to follow

It's nothing but the dog damned Olympics of advertising is all it is
At least the athletes don't have to pretend to be amateurs anymore :smh:

It's been an interesting Olympics thus far. The US dominating in the usual categories, but almost a changing of the guards so to speak with Phelps retirin, and the womens gymnastics team going through changes with the Koroyli clan retiring. Wonder who will take over.

Even with beach volleyball, Missy will probably retire, and not surd what team will take over.

Green diving pools and Lochte being robbed at gunpoint notwithstanding, it seems this Olympics will end without a major incident.

Glad we are in the medal count lead.

Yeah we can overlook the three cops that were shot, one fatally, because they took a wrong turn and local hoods opened fire on a cop car!!

    And zika

Favorite thing I've watched so far is Del Potro-Nadal. Two non-Americans. Battle for who gets to play in the gold medal match and it was of the highest quality in a great environment with fans of both players going at it throughout. I'm bias since I am a big tennis fan though but I was glued to my seat throughout.

Yeah, in addition, some of our swimming athletes robbed with guns to their heads, so another non-major incident not happening last night. We need to get those kids outta there on the double time.
Also, I had to do research a time ago for a sculpture of a famous " pinhead" who had worked in several circuses over many years. Although he was presented as "Schlitzie" and wore a dress, he was a man, and lived to be 70 , I believe.
He was born in 1903, and I don't know if it was zika or whatever back then that caused microcephaly, but he was at least taken care of by circus members, one of who legally adopted him. For a while he was billed as an "Aztec" princess, sadly.
You might find it interesting reading about him, and I still wonder what caused this terrible thing almost 120 years ago. And before...

Sick as shit of all the bad Rio rap. Every city has issues and Rio is no different.

MSM should stick to BS'ing US voters and protecting the Anointed One while he's still in office.

I think the heart of Rio's problems are the homeless kids situation...idk how that becomes greater there than anywhere else ( if it is), but the gangs of children , I read, are a danger.
    Sad situation.
I'm guessing with Brazilian wife, you've been there multiple times, Darth?
Can you shed any light on this?

First of all the zoning flat out sucks! You've got industrial right next to retail shopping, right next to a prison, then housing, then favelas all within close proximity. For example, you have to drive through one to get to the Corcovado. The favelas are loaded with gangs, young and old. They generally stay inside their boundaries but occasionally venture out to rob....even sometimes by rolling burning tires across the freeways to stop the cars first. When they do come out the crimes most often involve taking someone to an ATM for their daily cash limit. Once, they called my sister in law claiming to have kidnapped her father demanding ransom. He just wasn't home and had forgotten his phone so that was intense. When we're down there starting next week we will be visiting a family friend who owns a large security company so we will have armed escorts everywhere we go, which is comforting.

Watch "City of God" sometime and you'll see a very realistic Brazilian gangster movie.

Agreed. DeAndre Jordan said winning a gold medal is a bigger accomplishment than winning an NBA title....lol. Winning a Gold in basketball is easy as hell and winning an NBA title will never happen for him since he's on the Clippers so I guess I understand why he feels that way.

Lochte is a narcissistic idiot and he cost himself a shit ton in future endorsements for nothing. He should have just gone to one of the many fuck motels, as they are extremely discrete.
