Yelich is solid, would probably love to play @ home, is the most reasonable OF trade target on that team due to his contract/team control..Stanton; back-loaded monster money, and Boras guy Ozuna maybe cashing in big in a couple years.
He's obviously MIA's 3rd best OF, but would be LAD's best if you take Bellinger out/slot him @ 1B soon.
LAD will probably look to spend less in spec value, maybe target another expiring contract guy like JD Martinez instead or 1st, but I think Yelich would be a solid/long term addition to the young core..wish he was right handed, but he can handle the bat OK against LHP, lefties just sap his power.
MIA is going to want a pretty decent spec package for Yelich, as he doesn't represent any problems for them and the fact that their farm needs life, so maybe sweeten the spec pot a little more if they take Adrian for the rest of this year and next..let DBB manage that mess.
Adrian can finish where he began, right there with the Marlins.

Bour goes on the DL and I forget all about him. Smh
So yeah, no way they deal with Adrian
LAD is just stuck..I guess he'll be a " CC/DFA " candidate next season if they're serious about winning
I don't think Adrian qualifies as a guy who needs a grand send-off..for what?
At least not yet..maybe he'll have some magical ABs or hits in the post that help them get to the WS or win it this year?
At this stage, though, a 20M check on the way out next season via DFA should suffice

I just don't think Yelich is going to be available if the Marlins decide to do a fire sale once again. They would be selling low on his value, he has a team friendly contract, and he is young. If the Marlins really want to reboot, they need to shed their big contracts, of which Stanton is the biggest. Yes, that is a HUGE contract and any team that is even thinking about trading for him will have some big financial decisions to make. However if Stanton keeps hitting, then that contract might be a plus given the possible future size of contracts for other FA power hitters. I would love to pair a true power hitter with Kershaw, lets all remember Kershaw is almost 30 years old and has been in the league 10 years. How many years does he have.....5??? Dodger MGT needs to make a move pretty quick before the Kershaw window closes.

Eh, his 21M comes off the books at the end of next year. I really don't see MGT DFAing Adrian. They would give him the Bartolo treatment and put him on the DL. Plus our starting OF next year would be Pederson/Puig/Bellinger with Thompson and Toles as the OF bench. If there is a trade that happens, for a big bat, it is possible that Puig and maybe Trayce go, which would open the door for Ebiner and Verdugo.

We are all assuming that Cody is going to be a mainstay for years to come which is a bit premature obviously. Throughout these threads we've been railing on Joc and what's he's been doing this year after such a quick start yet we are ready replace A-Gon with Cody based upon 2 months? I'd like nothing better than to give Cody the 1st base job for years to come but A-Gon is still our mainstay albeit a struggling mainstay. Do we really want SVS at 1st or Kike? As for trade targets I'm pretty sure starting pitching is a bigger need than an OF'er. As we have learned in these past few days facing guys like Scherzer, Strasburg and Gonzalez good pitching gets out good hitting.

I guess the countdown officially begins now to when we officially don't sign/ get outbid for Otani.
Just like so many others...who was the last one? Heywood? Lol. Praise Jesus on that one...

I think we could use to solidify our pitching, but an Allstar Bat is needed way more. When you look at this lineup, there is no one there opposing pitchers say "CRAP!!! I gota face that guy!!!". Turner maybe but not really as his power is nothing to date. I think in general it is a solid line up when healthy. You add a Stanton type player to that line up and the "OH CRAPS" start being said. Yeah another non hurt pitcher would help but lets all realize with our current pitching staff we still have the best ERA in the league......by a wide margin. 3.16. The next closest is 3.54. They also have the lowest BAA in .226. So something is working. Conversely our team BA in the bottom half of the league (17th) at .247. RBI's are at 12th and HR are way down at 22. We need a bat. If nothing else look at the games played just this month. Of the 7 games played 5 were won or lost by 2 or less runs. MGT needs a bat between now and the deadline.

I just red the article by Jeff Passan on Yahoo Sports about Otani.....if he comes here it will be nothing short of a miracle. Not only are we at a disadvantage because the AL can offer the DH, but there is also the cash we can offer him, which is in the thousands not the millions. If there is any truth to the fact that he wants to be in a small market team......the Dodgers are screwed.

I suspect JT will make a difference that a expensive big bat fantasy that we may have but I could be wrong certainly. As for Stanton there is no evidence whatsoever that he is even available let alone that we would want him so I'm not going to get any hopes up for it. I just think getting a healthy 2nd starter behind Kershaw would take the pressure off of this inconsistent offense so that they would only need to get a couple runs a game. We'll see what happens in a month.

As for Otani that situation it's all about what Shohei wants contract wise, does he want to prove himself and take a SEVERELY under valued contract which is classic Asian behavior. Yes I am Japanese so no racist, lol. Or does he want all the money he can get which eliminates a majority of the teams able to not only afford it but are prohibited by the new rules. Obviously as a Dodger fan I am hoping it's the former.

Didn't call him Big D (no homo) for nothing.

Also reminds me of Sandy's broadcasting days, which were few and forgettable.

Otani is easily the most talented player to come out of Japan, when he does. We have to go after him, as does every other team
